| SCX10 II Gearing/Power seems off
Hey guys. I'm still getting my kit all finished, but I got it to roller status recently. I went with a similar power plant as my old SCX10, but they seem WAY different with regards to gearing. My old SCX10 had enough power to pop wheelies, and had a great amount of wheel speed. The new kit does NOT have wheelie power, and also has a much slower top speed/wheel speed. Both trucks have 3S lipo with 35T motors. Have you guys noticed anything along these lines as well? Could it be that I just have a doggy motor? (Yeah Racing Hackmoto 35T) |

its the axles. they were designed to help with torque twist. thus lower gearing. its not the powerplant I don't see a reason for a scale truck to wheelie. |

There is more gear reduction in the II vs the original version. Depending on what your old SCX10 was geared at, the stock II setup can be considerably lower. Per Axial's website: Final drive ratio (FDR) 40.44 with a range from 33.69 - 54.15 - Original SCX10 was 33.06 |

Was the battery in the back of your old truck?

| Re: SCX10 II Gearing/Power seems off Nope, it was in front of the trans, mounted horizontally and quite low. I don't NEED it to wheelie. But the immediate wheel speed was nice for clearing gaps. I don't feel like the new truck has that ability, at least with the stock gearing and my current electronics setup. It just lacks punch when you get heavy handed with the throttle. I do like that the torque twist is gone though. That part is awesome. |

I am running a holmes hobbies torque master expert 35t on 3s in mine and it has plenty of wheel speed to get over objects if needed...

I'd run a 6000Kv motor with 5s power should be able to wheelie then!

Just run a higher spur/pinion combo to match the old truck in speed. Might have to go 80/20 or even higher.

I'm not wanting to wheelie, it was an example.
