I think they had the Axial body in mind, which fitting the stock Axial bumper requires removing the "Cut n Fold" section of a 1:1 fender. I've done it twice now. Major departure angle improvement.

Already cut it haha, I love the rear bumper it helped me not get hung up on so many rocks.

Here is the SSD bumper mounted up, and my fender cut to match the height.

That's an awesome color! It's a shame it's flaking off. What color is it?

Not flaking off at all, thats all gouges from rocks or scrapes, this body has about 6 hours on it already and many roll overs during shock adjustments. the color is a tamiya aircraft color AS-19 then cleared with 3 coats of automotive clearcoat. i rolled this body down a 30 foot incline the second time out thats where some bigger areas are scraped off lol

Do eeet! Love my 1:1 XJ. Can find em pretty cheap anymore. If you can fabricate, it's a wide open world. You can do just about anything you can think of.

To contradict my statement i swapped the super swampers for the Hyrax tires LOL.

Awesome Details on these

Size Comparison

Just a quick flex test.

Next up was changing up tires to the Hyrax.

Slightly taller then the super swampers

This is where i saw the real difference in heights

Took it out to the pathway in front of my house. The clearance was way better than it was and i am able to hit up steeper rocks i wasn't able too before.

Then i started working on my driver for the interior. A tamiya piece.

Getting there, don't mind the tape, was waiting for arms glue to dry. and don't mind him texting and driving on the trail, or is he getting some shots for the instagram.

Anyway thats all for now, I also installed a New Savox servo, which ill post some pictures later.
what interior are you using? especially one that let's you use the Tamiya driver relatively easy?

It's early, so it took me a minute to realize that the blue 96- hardbody I recall from the thread is also kicking around and that you have the stock Axial lexan body too, lol.
Did the axle shift to the left a lot when you put the 100mm shocks on or are you drooping them?

That's the Proline interior cover I believe. Certainly is cool that the Tamiya guy fits so well. I'll have to keep that in mind.

How do you like the King shocks? I've seen several people say they leak.

So I see that you are using the lexan body again. I've been looking at the Raffee Cherokee body. Would you suggest it or stick with the lexan? Really like the king shocks. And the driver looks great. Enjoying the build. Thanks.

Sorry been busy have not been on the forum. This is the Proline Interior for their Cherokee body. And on fitting the driver i barely did anything to get him to fit it was sweet.

To be honest they look cool, but that is about it. They leak, the threads jam up with the oil they leak that collects dirt. they truly suck.

I do not run the lexan bodies anymore only the hardbody now. Yes the axle shifted alot which was driving me crazy, i did some adjustments on the panard bar and drooped it and now i got it pretty center again. Yes the tamiya guy fit no problem.

Nope i dont use the lexan bodies anymore only the hardbody. But keep in mind you will need to make up for the added weight up top if you do get a hardbody. The raffee co body is the same as mine they are all from the same plant in HK just rebranded different names.

I hated my kings, but I'm really liking my new gmade rsd's. The stock springs are stiff, but rock krawler springs work.

What's up guys, it has been awhile. been pretty busy to have time to post on here. The rig had a couple changes since ive last posted. Here is kind of a big update with the rig.

Parts Installed Since Last Update
-GRC Inner Fenders
-Vanquish CVDs
-Vanquish Knuckles
-Vanquish Shock Towers
-Vanquish Top Shaft
-Vanquish Spools
-Vanquish Motor Plate
-Vanquish Atlas Transfer case
-Gmade Shocks (then went back to kings)

The inner fender kits arrived and the rear center cover. Also the Vanquish shock towers.

Time to cut some plastic.

And there you have it finally have some inner fenders.

And the day finally arrived for AxialFest. I hardly took any pictures i was too busy driving since we got their on friday. The rig did amazing we had no major issues just a screw that kept backing out. But other than that i had 0 issues. Oh wait i lied my stupid king shock lower mount unthreaded on trail and somehow we found the parts and fixed it. took the rig through the hardest run at night was tiring for me physically. In all the rig did a little over 13 miles very impressed, body is beat lol.

Pictured on the rig is the new proline BFG's. to be honest i hated them compared to my hyrax.

Night runs were the best with all the lights we had.

Cool props everywhere

Course I. trying to get a picture as my rig rolled down = Blurry

Went swimming in the river the day after Axialfest and did some more crawling

Also the vendors had some goods, so i got some of BoomRacing's new tires and their type 1 shocks and a set of gear head wheels. i like the weight anxious to test them out

Time for a full cleaning

Well up on today's agenda was working on the cherokee some more.
i actually got pretty lucky with my cuts not needing any serious modification. i slightly had to pull the bed together to get the rear window to sit correctly but that was about it.

Visited the hobby store to get some heavy duty plastic glue that bonds better to make it more stout and a file.

first up rounding the edges and trying to blend the two pieces together.

After i got to the point of not getting to blend anymor eit was time for some filler.

after i let the filler dry it was tie to knock off some of it with the file then hit it with some 600 wet/dry sand paper. then hit it with some tamiya primer to find out what spots i need to fix. im not the most pro with this filler.

Messed up letting the filler dry so it flaked out of one of the low spots, all will be taken care of on the second pass. also made a bed cover. Might make it hinge, might make it magnetic, might make it permanent not sure yet.

Also have this roof rack i got from a guy that used to be on here in like 08. deciding to mount to rear of bed or to the top of the cab. what do you think.

more updates soon. also its going to be painted Luftwaffe Violet Gray once my Xtra speed chrome grill comes in the mail.

And here is a picture of its first paint job has changed alot lol.

How hard it it to cut that plastic xj body? I tried cutting those same inner fenders before and my dremal melted the plastic making a sloppy looking job.
