Default New v2 build help/advice

OK so I'm just about done with building the roller so now I need help/advice. For electronics I started with a new HH 40t crawl master expert I already had and ordered a HH br-xl and CC 10 amp BEC. This will be mostly a trail rig so I'm thinking an 18t pinion on 3s should combo well with the higher turn motor. Thoughts??? I also picked up a savox 0231 servo to try. I've always been a hitec guy, but figured I'd try this for a trail rig. Thoughts again? I do have a new 7954 I can steal from another rig, but hope this will be sufficient running 1.7's. my last and most important advice needed pertains to the battery. My thought was to run 2 1300 3s merv packs in parallel. Would this be better than a higher mAh full size stick pack?
I wanna build this one right from the beginning, but a HH servo might find a home here sometime later.

I forgot to ask about shocks. I'm thinking gmade xd's. 85mm, 93mm, or setting else? Right now I have the stocks with 35wt AE oil and dual springs.
Thanks in advance.

I would looks at the Gmade RSD Shocks. Not sure about the rest. I am personally running stock gearing with an HH 2700kv Stubby at the moment and a MMP with CC BEC and Hitec 7950TH. Most likely switch over my HH BLE PRO to it and pick up a standard size 2700kv sooner or later, hear they have a better lower end. Either way your setup sounds good to me, though I use 3s 5000 mah batteries.

Thanks, I was looking at the 90mm rsd shocks thinking if I should wait for them to come in stock.

The RSD are a new release so it'd be cool to see a set on an SCX2
