Traxxas springs are rated in N/mm.

I just ordered a set of Dravtech's with medium springs for my modded Axial RTR 69 Blazer. Without knowing exactly which spring rate would work best, or which weight of oil to run I guess I'll have to experiment a bit.

It can't be. The hardest spring is rated 0.61. If it was N/mm, than, you'd need only 6g of weight to make it deflect 1cm. For a 3kg truck, that's ~750g per wheel and not taking into account the motion ratio of the suspension, that'd be more ~4 meters of spring deflection!

It does look more like kg/cm or even lb/in, although if that's the case, then it appears to be still quite soft. I calculated that the stock springs that came with my G2 are ~1.4kg/cm.

Does anyone know anything about it?

Here is a Traxxas chart of the Jato springs to show the N/mm ratings.

Axial and most manufacturers rate their springs in lbs/in. The range of Axial single rate springs for 90 mm shocks is .70 - 3.03 lbs/in. If you convert Traxxas springs from N/mm to lbs/in, you get a range of 1.25 -3.48 lbs/in, which falls in line with the offerings from Axial.

Thank you, that works!

Does anyone knows what springs are compatible with Proline Pro-Spec Scaler 90-95mm shocks? Anyone knows what are the spring rates that comes standard with these shocks?

I run these Prolines Prospecs on my SCX10 II with 2.0 Ibf/in springs, obviously the weakest available from PL.

How long should a set of shocks last?

Any thoughts?
Should I go with the 90 or 100mm, read about people using gmades 100mm with good results but I don't wan't my car looking like a monstertruck.

I have the incision shocks on two rigs. Getting the spring tuning kit to really dial it in helps a lot. No leaks on mine. Never had the prominent shocks, but have heard great things about them.

My biggest issue with shocks is that most of the ones I’ve tried have leaked at some point. With the exception of gmades and the ssd scalers I have. My second issue is cost. It sucks when a set of shocks costs you $100 and they end up leaking. One of the things I’ve noticed about the hpi venture guys is none of them complain about the shocks. So I ordered 2 sets of stock venture shocks on eBay which were a grand total of $48 for 8 shocks. We shall see how they work but for $24 a set I don’t think they were a bad purchase.

Can you measure the springs?

Lenght, Inner Diameter and Outer Diameter? My Pro Spec Scalers should be arriving soon, I'd like to compare with stock springs.

Cheers

FYI, Axial springs for 90mm shocks (their 12.5 x 60mm springs) fit well enough on TRX-4 GTS shocks. I just made the swap to the Traxxas shocks and I'm reusing my Axial springs as I like the spring setup I have now.

I’ve been using the ssd scale shocks for a few months now and they’ve been great. I’ve been able to use traxxas springs for tuning. No leaks and still smooth.
