I know this is a little off topic, but how do you think a Wraith would respond to a MMP with a 4600kv brushless motor? I know it won't be as good as a high turn brushed for rock crawling but i don't plan on doing anything serious with it. Just having as much fun as possible.

I like that Articulation shot

How does it look for shoving a 3racing winch in the front? I didn't know if it would fit under the 2 support poles going threw the grill.
Thinking about buying an extra winch for the rear, looks like you can easily fit a 3racing winch in the back, with no problems

Thanks for all the Info & pics Kaetwo

This has got to be the most anticipated rc release ever!! This rig is going to have the same hype as the Bruiser did 15 years down the road. Future generations are going to be searching ebay for an Axial Wraith Thanks for all the info on this thing. The side by side comparison pics was all I needed to see.

....side note love that Axial has a BRONCO for his avatar. Just a suggestion but the wagon for hard bodies needs someone to jump on it and release an early Bronco hard body if you catch my drift....or maybe a Bronco panel set for the wraith

Will the wraith have a spot for mounting a winch?

The lexan body panels are .040" so there nice and stout.

Already in the works

I have not used a brushless system in any of my crawlers, so I'm not sure how it would work or hold up.

With a little work, you could make platforms for a winch on both the front end and back.

There is not a spot specifically made for a winch, but it would be trivial to make one

I got a chance to head out to Little Moab with some of the guys from our UTRCRC club and we tore it up with the Wraith. I should have a video up soon

The rig is still in stock form and it crawls great! Even with a heavy NiMH battery mounted in the back.

Here are a few shots next to a Honcho with 1.9 Rok lox.

What size action figure would look realistic? Maybe a 5 or 6" tall figure? I figure i would amputate him from the knees down. I just want the appearance of someone driving it.

Thanks!

I run a 3200 and get about 20 min of runtime. At first it was a little bit less than that, but when the motor broke in, the runtime went up a tad.

6" would be perfect and you could fit him in full length

Here is a quick video that PinchFlat shot and edited. The battery is a bit low, but it gives you a relatively good idea of how well this rig can climb and how it jumps and bashes around.

Enjoy!!!

Nice work Kaetwo...you are keeping me sane while waiting for mine to arrive. I know this question is being thrown around a lot but...my hobby shop told me mid june release date...thats coming up soon...are we not going to get an official release date until it's actually released? or is that the official release date? Axial are you around?

I have a couple of questions...

1. Have you had any luck binding Axial's receiver to a Spektrum radio?

2. Am I right in assuming from reading your review that the new wheels on the Wraiths aren't beadlocks? If so that does dampen the idea to easily just pull the tires off to add weights.
