| Kaetwo's Axial Wraith
I know that I have already posted up a review on the Wraith, but I thought it would be cool to post up a more technical thread. One that I can post up mods, updates, images, vids and various tweaks. I'm sure there will be a forum for this rig soon, but for now, I'll post this up in the Axial SCX-10 forum. For those of you who have not read my review of the Wraith, you can find it here; Kaetwo's review of the new Axial Wraith I was fortunate enough to have won this rig by taking 1st place in the Montana Scale Nationals Spec Class, hosted by Axial. I can’t thank Axial enough for there support and the incredible effort that it took to procure this rig for the event. Thank you again “thumbsup” In a nut shell, this rig is crazy fun. It’s big enough that you can mow over the rocks, grass, twigs and cats, but not so big that if feels bulky and clumsy. The speed is just about perfect for this rig, but I think I’ll swap out the motor for a 35x1 or something along those lines. My kids don’t need all that speed Right now, the rig is box stock, but I have a few tweaks that may increase it’s stability and crawling capability. Here is what’s on the docket; • Add weight to the wheels • Lower the ride height • Swap the motor for a 35x1 • Soften the suspension up just a little to give it a bit more flex and to soak up the bumps a bit better Now onto some pics!!! (oh and I had Bender sign the box, now that he's famous ) More to come Last edited by kaetwo; 05-25-2011 at 02:11 PM. |

Here are a few picturs of my 5 year old son waiting for me to setup the rig with a Dean connector. You should have seen his face light up when I brought this rig home |

Nice work buddy killin those courses. I think everyone on the board is jealous you got that rig. Grab a couple 5700 combos and throw one in this and your rally car... Just for testing purposes. |

I am really interested how the 35t and 3s will perform compaired to the stock 20t. I took the loaner truck across the rockpile out front and it does well on a healthy 2s but it could use a bit more low end grunt if your going to do any heavy crawling. My thoughts are if you drop the pinion ratio and a 35t should net you some more low end and on 3s would retain the top end it does so well.

I'm sitting by the door waiting for mine to show up! I'll be interested to see what everyone starts doing to them. I know I need at least 4 sets of axles |

Forget the 35tx1, get a 1tx35! Who needs control when you have POWER! Do you have an optical tach? You could throw the motor on some voltage and see where the no load speed falls. That would help narrow down the motor selection. |

Same gearing I assume? Taller tires on the Wraith? A 35t HW keeps up with a 27t stock motor, I know that much.

| wraith has the ripsaw tires. vs the 1.9 flatirons. the trans has the new gearcover on it so you cant see gearing but i'd assume its the same as the other RTR's Brett could answer that more easily then I cause we have to send ours back to axial tomorrow |
