Test run complete. Wheel base is a half inch longer than before at 14 1/4. She has a lower center of gravity and handles at speed better than before. So it looks different and works better so I am happy! Time to tear down for paint and body work.

Edit: Shit, I hate when I get toes in my pics!!

After my test run, I didn't notice anything unusual. Then a couple hours later I went to run it again to test some suspension changes and the motor spun but the truck wouldn't move, something in the drive train was trashed..

I ripped out the trans and found the spur and the smallest/top gear in the trans were both stripped..

Im gonna go the ckrc tomorrow and pick up the HR or Axial machined trans gear set.. Which is better?

Im also gonna switch back to the steel spur..

I have to get her ready for the U4RC race Saturday..

Norcal U4RC Race!

So I took it easy during practice to get a feel for the car and limited my track time to save the equipment. The rock sections were long, jagged and brutal! After the first heat I decided that the rear was too stiff causing the rig to dart and bounce around in the rocks so I switched the rear shocks to 35wt oil instead of the 50wt that was in there, much better. During the A main, I made several stupid mistakes and held onto 2nd. A half lap from the finish, I was pushing too hard and hit the big rock section with a little too much speed. I pulled the 2 3m screws that hold in the back of the front hinge pin brace out of the aluminum bulkhead. I had a good gap on 3rd place so I managed to get it across the finish line dragging the front of the chassis in the dirt.

The rig handled great and I cant wait to get er fixed and go U4 racing again, awesome time!'

Parts wasted: front bulkhead, both front hinge pins, steel toe block and right front shock shaft..

the 1st few pages were inspiration on what I can do with an the extra parts from my wrexo build, didnt have to cut up my wraith chassis for the wrexo so now I can use it for this 4wis wraith thingy...1st pic is just to test mounting points so I can hopfully not mess up when I do get to cutting on the actual wraith chassis

Re: Terra-Wraith now with MIP mod

I have since sold the chassis and used most of the other parts to build a Yeti. This rig got to the point that it was FULLY upgraded and I got bored with it.

With that said, I have been tuning the Yeti and it does not and never will work as well as the Terra Wraith at speed. There is a lot of potential with the IFS/IRS. Especially with the growth in popularity of the U4 style racing. I may build another at some point.

My advise for anyone trying to build one is try to keep it light. My rig rtr was like 9 1/2 pounds. The weight and the power I was pushing was really hard on parts. So stay light, do some suspension tuning and you will be happy with it..

Sounds funny but it is the truth - I saw this car first in December 2012 in person and since then it has inspired me - and I come back from time to time to look at it

I chopped up a wraith cage to build my wrexo then mounted what was left of the wraith on top of the exo.im still working out the rear shocks but its been a fun toy and ive only driven it about 5 minutes before the craptastic trans design rejected the 4800 motor I put in it...tossing around the idea of using an scx trans in
