Been getting her ready for axialfest. I lengthened the chassis by about 3/4 of an inch, went with a SS bulletproof trans, switched to an rx8 and 4000kv pro4, new wheels and all new bearings.

The wheelbase is just about 13 3/4

It looks like you don't like those OMF's with Pitbulls on them. I'll do you a favor and take them :)

I hear ya, they are by far the nicest tire/wheel combo I have ever had. Pure magic for G6'n but too tall and heavy for track duty.

I got tired of the plastic gear cases deflecting under load and I had to replace the wasted r&p so in goes more aluminum.

That is one wicked looking rig. I just went and looked at my wraith and exo. And if I didn't race my exo I would probably be in there tearing the wife's wraith apart. And then sleeping on the couch. Again. Nice job.

Damn. That is really nice. Wish MIP made shafts for the Exo. I would get a set. Can't wait to see more progress.

Did you run MIP's in the rear too...or just the front?

Maybe I missed it, but what did you have to do to make the MIP stub axles fit the Exo knuckles?

I assume your using Slash 4wd stub axles, correct?

Looks like you've got it so bulletproofed all you'll break are diff carrier and pinion bearings.

The knuckle needs to opened up a little to clear the huge CV bell, I used a carbide burr. And, you need some 10mm shims behind the inner knuckle bearing for proper spacing. The durability is WELL worth the effort.

My old front brace wouldn't work due to the new front bulkhead holes being a little different so I had to improvise.

I ran into a problem while disassembling the rear. The screw pin head broke off in the mip hub and it won't come out with a punch. Looks like I may have to take angle grinder to it and replace em with new ones.

Never mind, I was able to drill it a little and punch it out. The only casualty was the screw pin.

Thanks!

I have contemplated rear steer and dig. The only way I would do rear steer is if I added a 4 link solid rear then this rig would be just like every other wrexo out there and I like being a little different

Dig would be a good mod but would add more moving parts to fail. She's no comp rig and reverses are free so Ill probably just keep it as is.

Nice build so far, it looks like it would be fun to drive.

You can use a soldering iron to heat up those small screws and pins to help the loctite let loose so you can get them out without breaking allen wrenches inside them.

Thanks,

The allen tip didn't break, it was the screw pin it's self that broke just past the threads. I suspect it was already cracked from the torque load since it snapped with very little effort.

Good tip, using the soldering iron though.
