Default problems with wraith please help

kind of new here to the rc world but i just bought my son a axial wraith ready to run all stock no upgrades and he was doing some crawling and it fell in 2 inches of water.

so i took out the battery and took it home to dry it so the next day i hooked the batter back up and theres a problem when i put it in reverse it works fine goes full speed but when i go forward its goes real slow for a while then it stops but if i go back to reverse again it works fine

any help would be much appreciated thanks

ESC probably got wet and could be fried! I believe the RTR's have AE-2 ESC? That is what I bought for my kit version and I waterproofed mine.

Me and a buddy both ended up in too much water over the weekend, both died, and fixed both fairly easily. I am fairly new to crawlers but over the years messing with RC's it has always been the same drill for me.

1. Crack the receiver open and dry with compressed air.
2. Rebind the receiver.
3. Re-calibrate the ESC.

9 times out of 10 those steps work for me as long as the battery was pulled loose fast when stuff got wet, and it was completely dried before going back together. If you suspect water in the ESC as well dry it out too. The key on those is opening it up to dry it out, otherwise it will never get all the way dry.

Needless to say, the receivers got some extra protection before being run again!

The only thing with getting any electronics wet internally - it will eventually corrode. It may take only a month or so, may last a year. It's hard to say, but I will do it eventually.

I know, doesn't really help the esc issue at hand. Sorry for straying off the main topic.
