Kit or RTR? When you replace the spur - check the pinion and spur mesh.

I bought a wraith last week and only drove it for about a minute before i switched out the engine. I did notice that the pinion gear was barely tightened and had lots of play. That could have been your problem. I would go thru it and check every nut, bolt screw etc...

Some of the Axial trans I have seen have a ton of back and forth play in the upper trans shaft, making it so that at times less than half the width of the spur is contacting the pinion. This will cause premature spur failure. Some 5mm ID shims on the upper shaft underneath the slipper drive pin will take the play out.

i would have never suspected it being caused due to play in the transmision but ima check that out and put those shims in if it is really loose

Check the two screws that hold on the knuckles also. Mine were loose and actually had the upper screw back all the way out last weekend and lost the flange pipe. I checked the opposite side at that point and it was way loose as well. Anybody ever try to locktite metal screws to plastic????? I thought about trying that or even a small dab of super glue and see what happens.

Sounds good. I'll have to do that once my replacement parts come in.
