Default cogging with tekin 13.5t?

i recently got the tekin 13.5t sensored motor and installed it on my vxl3s esc. the gearing was brought down back to 38/13 at the axles and my spur/pinion is 54t/14t (32p).

why would it be still cogging at REAL slow speeds? is it still my esc?? damnit....and my gearing i think still needs to be lower but not sure where? im guessing the spur/pinion as i dont think theres any other options lower then axials 38/13 right??

thnx in advance

Does it have a sensor port? I tried Googling pics and info I didn't see one. If it does then check and make sure its plugged in all the way.

Yeah if everything is connected correctly then you may have a bad phase in the esc. The gearing might be an issue if you were up in the 20 tooth range. But at 13 I wouldn't see it as an issue. Or you could have a bad rotor. I had a sc4x motor from tekin cogged bad ended up being a weak rotor.

Behind a plug? Does that mean you don't have a sensor cable connecting the motor and ESC? With a sensorless ESC or no sensor cable connection between the ESC and motor then the ESC has to "guess" where the motor is and that's what causes cogging.

I had the same problem with a VXL esc and a Novak Ballistic 4.5. My problem was that the sensor wire was not plugged all the way into the esc. The rubber seal fits tight around the sensor wire plug. After I pushed the plug in all the way it ran great.

I set my buddies wraith up with a mmp and tekin 13.5 with 12/56 32p and it seems to be great with no real noticable cogging. Compared to my pro4 it is almost as good but he was on a budget so the 13.5 is more aforedable.

maybe i should drop down from my 14t to 12t and see?
i pushed both connectors in firmly without any noticeable difference on ESC/Motor.

if worse comes to worse ill end up goin to a Tekin esc or such with drag brake anyhow. without drag brake is a bitch!

Drop it as low as you can and still get a decent mesh. If you still have really bad cog then post a video so we can see.

I had this problem before but with a MMP an 32pitch.
The problem I "think" is the axial radio. I put ah gt3b on, an it runs smooth.

Plus your gearing is to small. A 56t to 60t is what I would recommend.
60 is what I use, but you can't use the spur cover, but keeps the heat down with ah 4000 pack till it's dead.

I am running a MM Pro with Tekin 10.5t motor standard gearing and it has no cogging at all.

now im not sure? lol

so, i should get the 54t/32p out and drop a 56t/32p and run what.....still my 14t pinion? or should i change this dfferent aswel?

as for the radio....i know im still running a POS HPI TF-2 but i use it cuz its a 3CH....only one i have currently!
all my other TX/Rx are 2CH systems, and i plan on getting the DIG for this RIG.
Self-edit: i do have a 4CH LanSu but i cant figure German out or this Tx! ahah

at low-end speed (nearly at a turtles pace) it seems to sometimes have a deadspot or something and a slight Cogging goin on?
ive made sure the sensor wire is firlmy pressed into both the ESC/motor.

hmmm

The 14 should be fine as I also run ah 14. If you get ah chance try your 2ch an see if that fixes it. Gt3b's are hands down the best and cheapest 3ch radio out there.
