*

Does that sound about right for a "wish-list"?

Can you think of anything I am missing?

Gearing: I'd like to build this rig a bit more for crawling with a mix of trail use.
I figure I could start out with the 13T C.M. (for decent top end) and just gear it way down for now while I build up my driving skill level... should I swap out to 32P 56/12?

I think I have the correct spur gear figured out. Is there much difference (in quality) between various brands of pinion gears? The cost of pinion and spur gears is affordable enough for me to order a range of combo's to experiment with... any brand in particular I should stick with?

Thanks in advance for your time and input

What you have listed there is a SOLID base for a reliable wraith. Put some weight in the front tires before you glue the tires on and maybe think about
Some better lockers for the diffs since the stock ones arent very strong. I cant comment on the motor since ive never ran one, but everything else is high quality stuff so i wouldnt change anything on your list

Forgot to mention i have been using duratrax 32p spur gears with good success, they fit perfectly. 56/12 is a good starting point, im at 56/14 on 3s and its a good mix of speed and crawling

Thanks for your reply dittohead.

I just edited my above post a bit after spending my stash on a few of the most needed items on my build list... also changed from the 7955TG servo to the 7950TH after reading the recent thread on the "ultimate steering servo"

Now Im off to do more research and save up some more $$ for the next round of parts!

Disagree... It's fun, but it's not as good for clean even low end power when crawling as a brushed motor can be. It really depends on what you're doing with your wraith. If bashing is your thing, and you won't be doing much if any crawling, then by all means, go brushless. If you're into actual crawling, a tuned high end brushless combo can't compare to a tuned high end brushed combo. That's my 2 cent opinion.

For crawling and light bashing, you can't go wrong with the Holmes Hobbies 27T Trailmaster Pro. I though that the low end on it wasn't going to be enough. I was DEAD WRONG. It has so much torque that if you get a tire stuck, it will flip the whole rig before it runs out of power/torque. It's a beast. I haven't had the 13T, but I have run the 45T Torquemaster Pro. My money is on the Trailmaster. It'll blow your expectations away! It's just plain awesomeness in a can motor.

For mostly crawling and occasional G6 comps?... I was thinking a nice brushed motor would be better for my build...?

Im running a decent brushless combo (tekin rspro/13.5t sensored) and its not nearly as good as a brushed setup for technical crawling, its good for horsing around and spraying your buddies with dirt/rocks

I recommend you to use the Beef tubes for the stock plastic housings, they provide a solid attachment for the c-hub bolts plus some extra weight in the axle assembly

Just updated my original post as I have collected many of the item's on my wish list... almost there!

Just about to place an RPP order to scratch a couple more goodies off the list.

Do I want the R.R. 1pc Output gear or the OEM style 2pc design?

No future plans to run DIG if that matters...

Where is a "crickets chirping" smiley icon when you really need one?

If you aren't going to run dig, then the 1 piece is the way to go. Very solid unit.
