just bought a BL system. need some advice.

So i just ordered a Traxxas Velineon bl system and i was wondering if there are any upgrades i should order right away.. Is there anything that WILL break straight of the bat?

And is it the same pinion gears on the stock 20t axial motor and the traxxas velineon motor?

And what gearing would you guys run on this setup?

I'd gear it for torque!

If you are running all stock stuff you should consider:

32 pitch pinion/spur gear
Robinson Racing trans gears (idler and output)
MIP drive shafts
Axial HD gears
Gunnar pins
aluminum wheels
Beef Tubes

I'm testing traxxas max drive shafts to transfer power to hot racing lockers sent from all metal Robinson racing tranny gears and traxxas 14 pinion duratrax 56 spur. 32p

I think I'd run a 11 or 12 pinion and 56 spur with the velion(gear for minimal heat). 60 spurr probly isn't possible with max drive shafts.

I don't upgrade anything unless I have to and I've had to upgrade this stuff with a very high power brush less motor that I run


The duratrax plastic 32p spurr is holding up awesome. Would consider the Robinson metal spurr if I was constantly stripping sports but I'm not.

Not sure if your on a tight budget or not. If you are like me I would suggest MIP drive shafts, a good high torque servo and after market steering links to start with. The rest of the truck seems fairly sturdy and does very well for a stock truck. Actually the wraith really surprised me with how capable it was out of the box with just the few parts that I mentioned added. Then replace the other parts as the wear out or break.

Got the system today and installed it Super happy with the performance Running stock gearing and its don't feel to bad but not optimal. So looking at different gearing specs
