Question Transmission Advice On a Budget!!!

Ok well I've been slowly collecting parts here and there to do a 1.9 modded Wraith cage style baja rig setup for speed since I already have a near bulletproof 2.2 Wraith for crawling.

Power plant will be a MMP using a Tekin Pro4 4600kv or Castle 1410 3800kv either of which I have at home. Will be using 3s most of the time.

I have most of the things I need but need help on transmission advice. All of my Axial based rigs have Robinson internals and 32p gearing. Has anyone tried CKRC's "Ax-10 Fully locked Metal Gear Transmission"
https://www.ckrccrawlers.com/ax10-fu...on-p-3725.html

My heaviest rig has the SuperShafty Bombproof tranny setup since it weighs in around 11-12 pounds running a 10T puller on 4s. But I don't need another $200 tranny in a lightweight 1.9'r.

I say just put metal gears in it and run it. My Robinson gears and 32p spurr gears are holding up yo 1/8 scale power on 6s

Well, for my first 1.9 wraith, I went with a 7t Holmes puller, 105$ "discontinued" a Integy metal case, take a little off like corners and edges to remove little of its weight if its your type of thing, but they are lighter but not by much vs the vanquish ones the other hand they cost 28$ - 30$, then add RR gears and be happy with the trans. its what I been running in it since I bought my wraith. The yellow wraith I have had my other 7t holmes motor til it died, then I put in a 11t pro 80 - 90$ I now run this in my honcho as well, I use a R.R. slash 4x4 upgrade spur TowerHobbies.com | Robinson Racing Slipper Unit Gen 3 54T Slash 4X4 runs 35+ in stores usually. and a 8t pinion but my wraith has a 14 and now half my vehicles I run weekly are as fast of the systems you plan on using if not faster and I just program them for speed and gear down, which for your question If this isn't satisfying enough, simply do what most people do, keep the plastic trans case, use RR gears and find a 60 - 74T spur and a 12 - 16 traxxas pinion, and it would be cheaper but you might blow out the spur being plastic, and worst case like many others you will go fast and blow out the trans due to drag brake... *raises hand* honestly I hope this all helps, best thing other wise make a simple trans and swap with your wraith its only 4 screws

Yup a buyer in MN has a nicely built tranny just the way I would have done it with RR internals and looks like the Duratrax 32p 56t spur which is ideal. I was just wondering if anyone used CKRC's "all metal tranny" before. It looks identical to the HR version maybe it's the same?

I run a plastic duratrax 56 spur and its held up to a ton of abuse.

66 is about the biggest 32 p spur that fit and clear the output. For me 56/14 works for all my speed needs from slow crawling to fast sand foffing I adjust voltage as needed . I'm running a 2100kv motor.. 2-3s to crawl 4-6 for a drooling sand slinging grin
