| clicking sound in transmission when steering at full lock
Hey Guys , need some help. my wraith makes a weird clicking sound in the transmission area when the steering cvds are at full lock . it only happens if the wheels are on , if i remove them its fine. i think its the vibrations traveling up the driveshaft because it wobbles a bit too much. here is a video to illustrate DSCF6550 - YouTube i plan to open up the tranny to check if the bearings are ok, also my axle outputs seem to have a relatively high amount of slop in them, could that be it ? any help is very very appreciated ! thank you ! |

right , a bit of an update i think the pinion in the front transmission might be the culprit, i've compared to a spare one from the scx10 and this one has some weird weare on the edges. here are the pictures, please ignore the hair, the cats are shedding and it gets everywhere and looks even worse on macro pictures. the dirty is the one from the wraith , the cleane one the spare from the scx10 |

That would be the front axle, not transmission. I say get a set of Axial HD gears and install them. Make sure to shim the pinion so it doesn't have so much play. Then you'll be good. Another thing to check for is stripped or chipped teeth on the trans gears, pinion and spur. Also might want to check your pinion bearings to see if they're worn out.

Your universals could be binding causing this. You may be over steering them.

Try resting your finger on the axle shaft (where the wheel nut goes) when you hit the throttle and turn, to see if you can feel them chatter.

im not sure its the universals binding since you can feel the chatter at around 30 degrees. full lock without power is about 45 degrees and axial advertises 50 degrees of steering. i have the hd gears on order. also i've replaced the spare set of old gears and it has fixed the problem a bit , so i guess the hd gears should do it . thanks guys for the help |

Don't forget to shim the ring and pinion gear Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk 2 |
