Default Driveshaft question.

Looking to upgrade my stock driveshafts and I am searching C.K.R.C.'s site and there is MIP shafts, JunFac, and C.K.R.C.'s own shafts. What ones are better/best? Don't really care about th eprice as they're all close to each other.

MIP is always a good pick up for drive shafts. I plan on picking up a set myself.

Go with Traxxas TMax shafts. A ton lighter, cheaper and absolutely tough as hell. Trim to fit your rig. They are awesome.

SkaldidDog- Can you explain what you mean by "trim" please? Does this require machine shop style tools or anything special?

Buy some AX10(Scorpion)MIPs off of eBay for $39 and while you are at it, get Traxxas part# 5145, 1 bag of 6 for $6, they are M4 x 2mm pins(instead of M3 x 1.5 factory). $45 in all. I have been running this for a whlile and no problems with a MMP, Pro4(3300),3s setup. I crawl alot so I like the weight down low and you will never break them. I have never tried the t max drivelines, but have heard good things about them.

Traxxas # 4928x for yokes, and 4951x for sliders.

Trim the slider/shaft to length (utility knife & sandpaper)
The yokes have a 5mm hole with some extra material (designed for round w flats) I just drill out those flats to make the holes round (5mm drill bit & drill)
The front side of the tranny with the spur is tight. I am able to slightly sand the outside of the yoke to fit an 87T 48p spur (barely)
The yokes that attach to the tranny I had to remove some of the flat end to get the holes to line up on the shaft & yoke. This is the hardest part for me because you have to take enough off to keep from binding but leave as much on there as you can for strength (dremel sanding drum & sandpaper)
The ends that connect to the axles needed a washer/shim to take up some slop.
Cheap & easy & holding tight with 3s 35T brushed

Axial tips and tricks
Maxx Shafts made easy.
The supplied traxxas pins work great & are beefier than the axials

I will pass on the Traxxas driveline stuff. Do not want to keep plastic. The way my luck is, I will break it at a most inopportune time. Steel is the way I roll when it comes to this stuff. So, like my original post.....C.K.R.C.'s, MIP's or JunFac's ?????

MIP [/thread]

All 3 of my ar60 axled rigs run them and I've yet to break anything outright. I did ruin a male end when the pin slid out part way and I, unaware of it pinned the throttle. The foff is running a rx8 pro4 4600 on 3s with not so much as a whimper from the shafts.

This is a great setup. Pro 4 in mine with zero drive shaft failures.

Mip clearly.
I am running a 60/40 chassis (FBII) so I need 2 different length shafts so MIP gets expensive quick.
If money was not an issue, to me the obvious choice is MIP, you wont be disappointed.
