Default Mmp with pro4 cutting out at 11.1v

Ok so I'm running a mmp with a pr4 4000kv on 3s 40-80c.

It Rips! But then starts slowing down and shortly after dies down to half speed when pulling for full throttle...

Lipo cut off is set at 3.1v per cell

Its been on the castle link twice and I can't figure out what is doin this.

Anyone have any ideas? I feel like a newb!

I run that same setup but I only run 2s. I thought 2s was max for pro4 4000? Have you checked your motor and esc temps. Gear mesh being to tight? Binding anywhere else. That's all I got....good luck

Does it do it with all your packs? My 3656SD will bump the lvc with a pack that still has half a charge or more if it isn't capable of producing ~100 amps.

yep - pro4 4000kv suggested battery limit - 2 cell !!

check your motor temp when it starts to cut out - sound like its getting way to hot.
watch out or you'll be getting that stinky - bad smoke !

remember when you volt up - you need to KV down on the motor.
this is why you see motors that run on 4/5/6 cell below 2000kv not a higher kv

Yup, Thermal shutdown. That's what made me switch to a RX8.

Could be as simple battery and motor connections.

Make sure you never burn more then 80% of the pack. Low voltage were you have it SST could possibly drop inside the 80% lipo rule.

I'm running my lvc at 3.7

Thanks guys.. the motor hasn't been hot, nor has the esc. Then again its 10° outside, not that I think that would make a huge diff in the motor getting hot..

Incase I haven't mentioned this, I'm no where near a fan of castle! But Everyone else seems to be running it.. so I thought I would give them another try..

If not, back to my trusted tekin and the search for a RX8!

I have ran a couple diff packs. It shuts them down at exactly the same 11.1v left every time..

80% of the pack... So if I want longer run times before it gets to 11.1v and shuts down. I should run a 5000mah pack and not the 3300mah pack?

Yes if your currently burning 80% of your packs. Then you need bigger packs if you want longer run times.

MMP is only a 65ano ESC rx8 is 120. So literally twice the ESC. Both have a great programming setup.

What is your battery start power setting? Mine cuts out like yours if its set to high. Set it to low. Your batteries are not capable of supporting the amp draw. do you have a crazy power high voltage servo? Even off a bec, it with the motor are too much draw for your current batteries.

I'm pretty sure setting the startup power to low, will cure your problem. Try that before bigger batteries.

I do believe I set it to medium..

I thought this could be the problem, but it still gives full juice at startup. Its full speed that its robbing from.
Ill change it and give it a test. Thanks
