I'm pretty sure that to qualify for a tester you actually need to drive a rig on a semi-regular basis.

okay cool. Interested to see what this chassis is like since Jcad isn't going through with his original design.

What I have is an early prototype that has since been revised. I didn't like a couple of things about it, but they've been remedied on the revisions so what this one is like is kind of a moot point. I also installed it in a manner opposite of how I was told...

Just down to the wiring.

Made a couple fancy schmancy light bar mounts. It's aimed a little low, but the bar had to be pressed in, so any adjustment at this point would destroy it.

Cleaned up the beans, installed some Mthead rings I had tucked away, and added some LURC hardware.

How wide are them beans? Light bat mounts are good.

Either 1" or .900". Don't remember which. Offset is nearly too much. With the shortest hub it is just barely with spec.

Finally done and ready for Disney.

Found a driver and navigator. I told the driver he was too short to reach either the pedals or the wheels, and that there were no safety belts, but the job was his if he wanted it. He said he wasn't worried.

The navigator doesn't look as enthused...

Disney was an absolute blast! If anyone gets the chance to attend an event there, I highly suggest you go!

The lil' Wraith did good, no complaints other than it could have used a bit more front weight bais. Right before tech I decided to ditch the spare tire, and there were a few climbs where that decision paid off. While I was fondling tires, I cut all the little in-between lugs off of the Mad Beasts, which also turned out to be a win.

The only real issue I had was the left rear tire wouldn't stay on the wheel. No idea why, it never did that before, but a few wraps of electrical tape to fill the bead groove up a bit fixed it.

Sometime during the night run, my navigator lost one of her legs during a crash. I looked around a bit and couldn't find it. The next day we happened to be close by the area so I went back and hunted for it, and found it right away.

After the TTC event I decided to do some runs through the mud pit just for funsies.

After:

Much thanks to everyone who made the parts I used on this thing:

Axial, PitBull, TSS, Beeftubes, CBE, Castle Creations, Holmes Hobbies, Crawler Innovations, Locked Up, Mthead, Supershafty, VP, and of course RPP for taking my money and sending me boxes full of stuff I "need".

Got 'er all tore down and checked the damage from the mud pit. All the bearings were toast, the axle casings were wallered out from the bearings spinning in them, the trans was half full of water and muck, and the poor HH motor was fried from trying to make all that junk spin.

New parts are already on order, and the motor is torn down so I can clean it, recut the comm, and instal new brushes.

I also picked up a couple new things for it this weekend. First was a Pull Tool from CBE RC Fab so I could put my winch to use. It worked awesome.

Second was some Wraith slider fab tabs (?) from Scalerfab. Basically just a couple of laser cut sticks of steel that matches the Wraith cage bolt pattern that you can weld or solder your own sliders to. Should be a fun little project.

Here's more info on the chassis...

I installed mine a little differently than suggested, as well as made my own skid and spacers. Pics to follow.
