Default What's up with this tire

I have 2 of these tsls on my wraith doing the same thing. They're like flat? What causes this and what fixes it?

A bead is screwed up or there is a hole somewhere that is letting air in but not out when the tire gets compressed.

Did you vent your wheel or tire properly?

The beads are goodin sure. I never did anything to them but mount them up. How do you vent then properly?

Either drill 2 1/8" holes in the wheels or cut a couple of small holes in the treads. I usually make a couple of holes in the treads because it's easiest.

Ok. Is 3 small holes sufficient in the treads per wheel then? Thanks Harley

I usually do 2 holes, on opposite sides of the tread. About 1/8" in diameter.

If you don't run in water and don't mind drilling in the wheels, I always drill a 1/16" hole in the rim so it can breathe but you can still drive in shallow water or mud and not get the foams wet.

Yes... Agreed with above. This happened to me once but it was cause my foams were frozen?

I often drive in water. Holes in the tires are not much of an issue and water comes out pretty easy. Holes in your wheel trap water in when it does get in there.

Agreed. My point was simply that I prefer to vent the rims if water isn't an issue. I've torn enough tires already so I'd rather not make more holes myself.

I vent the tires in the tread voids with a leather punch. I have never had one rip or tear.

I was going to suggest a hole punch to.

If cheap plastic wheels I'd drill them. If I ran Harleys wheels I sure wouldn't touch them.

I prefer to not vent with a 6 - lb rig. I have a rock bouncer style of driving and rig but still do better then holding it's own on non vented rubber with foam and me Mery foam.

I bet your getting the flat tire because you have a slight rip or two in the sidewall somewhere. When the tire compresses the tear opens and Letts out air as the foam compresses then it rebounds and the tear seals not allowing air to come back in.

Yep - Problem solves. I vented all 4 in the tire with a small hole punch. MUCH better all around performance. Thanks guys!
