Default Steering servo location question

Hey all,

I recently bought a used Wraith from Ebay. It had a lot of modifications already done but also included all the stock parts as well.

Going over this Wraith I noticed that the steering servo is attached to the frame of the truck rather than the front axle like I have normally seen.
There is also an kind of stabilising arm going from the frame to the axle.

Why is the server located on the frame rather than axle?
What difference does it make?

Thanks for any help!

sounds like ya have the parts right. Thats called a chassis mount servo (CMS) and pan hard kit. the pan hard being the link bar from chassis to axle that you spoke of. Its just different way of mounting the servo to make it have more scale appearance. But there are pan hard setups in the 1:1 world. but as said above hit google up or forum search cms and pan hard under the wraith section and you'll find tons of info.

Awesome, thanks guys.

I just thought it might be a set up specifically for crawling or for bashing.

Now I have the right terms (CMS, panhard) I found lots of info!
