| MMP and Trackstar 8.5T 4650kv cogging
Ok, so got this new setup and overall it's working great. Have seen some cogging on the low end if it under quite a bit of load (like trying to climb a large rock or something). I can give it more throttle and the wheels will start flying no problem, but trying to give it just a tiny bit it just cogs. Running stock 32p spawn gearing (not even sure what the ratio is), 2S, and mmp settings follow. Crawler reverse brake 50 drag brake 50 100% max forward power punch control (was at 0 default, moved it to 40 and no change) start power medium (default was low, tried it at high and now medium and the same) sensored only no cheat no throttle curve Running the newest firmware it came with 1.46 Any ideas? |

Ok, so I decided to switch the sensor cable. (since I'm running in sensored only, I assume the motor wouldn't work at all with a bad cable but I have no clue). It was just a tad loose on the esc side even though im 100% certain I pushed it in all the way originally. I also adjusted the throttle curve, to where 20% doesn't kick in until after the second point. Basically just made the whole curve a tad lower until the 3rd point. Gotta pull the trigger a tad farther now to get it moving, but it doesn't seem to be cogging for now.

The stock gearing on the Spawn should be 56/12 on a 32p set up. I was going to suggest checking your sensor cable to make sure it is secured properly. My very first suspicion when getting that cogging would be that the sensor wire caused the problem. Those wires are weak and glitches are common. Your ESC should be fine, you should have atleast 80A output in that. If it continues to cog at low speed try a lower gear set up, try to shoot for 5-6:1 spur/ pinion ratio for crawling. The stock ratio I believe is 4.6 and is not that good for continuous low speed crawls. A 10 or 9 tooth pinion in 32p with that stock spur gear should suffice and get you in the ball park for crawling speeds. Hope this helps.

Thanks much. I will probably gear down a pinon size. Just took it out for a more thorough test and it's smooth as butter now.
