Default Serious steering binding

Anyone ran into this problem before?

Recently I lowered my Wraith by flipping the link/shock brackets on the axles and moving the front shocks to the most aft position (and rear shock to the foremost position, but that is not relevant).
The upward travel of the front axle is high enough to make the top steering link sink between the sway bar mounting points.

This causes severe binding when turning (Left in this case).

Combined with 25kg/cm (345 oz/i), in my case this led to the distruction of one of the gears in the servo.

Luckily I could rebuild it and by mounting this gear 180degr. rotated. It's running fine again.

In order to prevent this from happening again I moved the front shocks to the foremost position which in turn limits the uptravel of the axle. Now it stays clear of the mounts.

All in all: solved for now!

Every ‘problem’ I ran into thus far was more or less expected because it was mentioned somewhere on this forum. This one I didn’t come across my reading.
I wonder has anyone else encountered this problem and are there other solutions I haven’t thought about?

My spectrum servo fit in there nicely. But my savox hit. I cut down the mounts as to recess the servo a bit. Then it fit up in the frame perfect. You don't want to limit travel if you don't have to.

I make a servo mount that moves it back far enough to clear the cage. Not in stock at the moment, but I hope to have some soon...

If you've got the tools, you can drill new holes in your existing mount to get it moved back. Just be careful that you don't go too far and have the back end hit.

I did move the servo back. Pics are in post 5 of my 'uprising' topic. Can't go any further because the bolt though the link and horn will touch the diff house. Might grind it down a bit but it won't give me that much space.

I had a fix for your screw hitting the diff cover but just realised you can't do it using the stock linkages.

If/when you change out the plastic stock tie rod & drag link you can roll the servo over & run the drag link to the left knuckle instead of the right.
This will get that screw away from the diff cover.
I also changed to the RCBros servo posts, they're a bit thinner than the stock plastic & pull the servo back a bit.

Another option is to use four small spacers to bring the front bumper forward to clear the servo arm.

I'm reluctant to do that because I'm not quite shure along which path my Wraith will develop. Crawler/basher/racer.
Exrending the bumper is an option I didn't concider.

I extended mine with a couple of 1mm thick x 5mm ID O-rings. You may need a little more space than that, but two O-rings each on the bottom screws and one each on the top screw worked for mine.
