I've never broke my Wraith's drive train using 3s... nor even 6s (yet)
But I do run steel gears in the transmission, 'cuz the plastic idler gear can't even hold up to even 2s use.

So let's compare 3s to 6s performance ( 35T HH's mtr. - 87/14 )

screw 2s 'cuz it's weak sauce in a crawler

^ that said... my RC10b2 hauls extremely fast using 2s with a 9 turn motor
If ya wanna run 80+ mph... it'll do that.

But a single erroneous input to the radio... and the results won't be purdy.
Getting it cleanly off the line... that's a challenge in of itself.

I remember putting 12 nicad cells in my 1/10 pan car just to see what would happen.
it was extremely fast... until it became an airplane
