Don't thank me yet...I haven't actually tried it. Just read you can fairly easily de-anodize aluminum with 'Greased-Lightning' cleaner and degreaser. Polishing is fairly straightforward if you have a bench grinder with a polishing wheel. I've been dying to try it though...

Here's a threadpost about the process: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...easy-Very-fast

Agreed. They just don't sell raw alloy rings - they're all a 'color' - even the brite ones are anodized silver, not bare aluminum. I don't know why. [shrug]

And if you buy their 'beef-patties' the hub screws are too short then. I've messaged them but no reply, I suspect a language barrier. But their finished hubs package has the perfect screws with them. Everything at the local industrial supply had too large of a head to fit into the socket in the wheel.

Ah well....

True,

Might be worth trying it on a spare set of rings id spend 9 bucks for the experiment... They do also have Matt Silver which should take paint well....

Some more parts came in...

The GRC shock mounts look awesome, looking forward to giving them a crack. Also new truss mounts and titanium coated axle gears

I can not recommend the extra speed titanium coated diff gears. However the GRC damper mounts are super rad. they are designed to have longer rear shocks, so bare this in mind if you are going to order some. I have ordered some gmade XD shocks, 103mm for the rear and 93mm for the front. hope they go ok!

I also swapped in a Tekin Element Proof 2300kv 4pole sensored motor with a mamba max pro 1 cell esc, and a CC10amp BEC.

I installed the standard axial HD gears.

will upload pics soon...
