Wouldn't it have been easier to turn the cans down to 0.5mm all round and add the weight out wide on the end of the axles?

i did that before , but it feels less powerfull , needs more amps for the same torque and the drag brake feels loose

Off center lathing eh? I never thought of that! Sounds interesting!

Where are the pics though? Pics or it didn't happen.

Christian, where you turned it off centre, where is the 1mm section in relation to the magnets, maybe the weak point is between the magnets, maybe you could fill the gap between the magnets with 1mm shim to keep the magnetic field strength high

You my friend, are an evil genius.

Your continued desire to push the envelope with creative thinking just astounds me. I don't think my imagination was nearly as big, even as a child. Phenomenal work!

Wait, so one side has more steel behind the magnet than the other? Or am I seeing things? I thought u were saying that the can was thicker on the pinion side than it was on the end bell side or vice versa

It's like he messed up and the can was not centered in the chuck.

No, he's turned the whole can off centre so the thicker/heavier side is at the bottom thereby lowering the CoG

Did you weld brackets onto your front lower links to mount the front shocks? Brilliant and noted!

Doesn't the stock XR do something similar from the factory?

I read, and couldnt find it, but how much weight did you save by lathing your cans, and what is the diameter you turned it to? You mention the drag brake was weaker. Does the off set lathing help that any?

I think this is the first mod we've seen from Christian that is dubious at best

Servo mod was a great way to gain clearance to push the servo back thereby moving the servo arm back and out of snagging distance of rocks

I'm not talking about it's location. And this previous design already had the servo repositioned for clearance.
