What materialize you use for the spools? Quite a dramatic difference in weight

Do I sense a chassis upgrade in the pipeline too?

Just looking on my phone but it looks like you removed the steel bearing races? Either way it's looking sick as hell and I love when so much effort goes into a part you will never see.

I am sure when it is his turn to be awake he will fill us in. But to me it looks like the rear spool is drilled out and he will press fit a rear shaft. And the front is not drilled out and has a brass splined insert for the new front axles.

Looks great and I could be way off but great work Christian as all ways I love watching your builds.

the rear steel spool is drilled out to 16mm ID , so the steel part of the spool is ~4.5g only
the center is made of 7075 aluminium , itīs drilled out to 6mm for glueing in a 6mm hollow Ti shaft

steering will be ~80° , for the most constant velocity i need an 1.3mm offset from the kingpin to the double joint center , thats the max i can get out of the VP knuckles and Chubs
+ ~2mm axial movement , thats why the splined front shafts and spool

another xr10 for a buddy thats the chassis i will use

So the axle & spools are splined because they will have to telescope slightly in the housing to achieve your full steering angle?

And since you are gonna switch to the new chassis, does that mean the Ti tuner gets to retire in hawaii?

With 80° steering I guess so

The rear could have been splined too as it has to be better than two flats on the shaft, but there's obviously a weight penalty

But I think Christian has ran a solid one piece rear shaft for a long time so why change it no slop and strong.

Default A Christmas Story

Ah it's so much fun to watch a bitchin' Christmas time build thread with visions of one-offs dancing in Christian's head. This is crawling. Hope she's ready for May.

Hurry up and get that all put together... Can't wait to see it! So does this increase the front end width?
