| Pretty much when I built this I had planned on trying using the same tire front and rear, as soon as I had time to swap them I did. I may go back to the rover\sedona combo, unsure, it is driving nice this way. My Fastback worked better with the sedona front, rover rear.

Very nice. What hubs are you using in the rear? It looks like your front and rear are within a quarter inch of each other in width. I would like to get there using my DH's, but right now I don't have the slw hubs that will get the rear wide enough. Are you 11" front and 10.75 rear? |

I lose the benefit of the lip on the hub adding a bit of extra strength to the wheel, but nothing ventured noting gained right? | |

Thanks. Did you say that your dh hubs work on the slw? Thought I read that somewhere.

They bolt up, also forfeiting the strengthening lip. You can not get an SLW hub into a DH with out some serious grinding in the hub and wheel though.

[QUOTE=BEELZEBOB;2689443]Jarrod was pretty backed up after CRAWLAPOLOZA, apparently.[QUOTE] Hope so, I have been waiting for my HR gears from JP for almost two weeks. Lookin good so far DickyT. I picked up another fastback chassis yesterday, so if I get froggy tomorrow I am going to tear down the XR and make it a Fastback XR. Right now I need to get some sleep, been at work since 5:30.......... AM. 20 hours non-stop. Lets just hope I get enough sleep to use the right allen wrenches.. |

I came in second in my first comp with the rig! I drove nine of the ten gates on the finals course with a broken upper front link The rig drove great all day. After two courses I took the spacers out of the rear wheels and ran a more staggered offset front and rear. The palm beach course is about as rip rap as it gets with no real side hills, so the narrower rear was helpful. On larger rocks I can see widening it again for side hill stability. HR gears are holding up then! I`ve been tempted a couple times to get them, but held off at checkout. I had HR gears in my Ax10, with one piece steel outputs and they held up, so dont know why i keep backing out Well done on the finish |

| The HR gears are holding up fine. Everyone told me to reverse out of the bind that broke the link today. I pushed through as a torture test of durability, everything but the link did great. I managed a 0 on the course with only one front upper too!

I'm still running Avid's in stock size, I have been good since that one went. I have a few Avid's left so will not be doing 9mm mod. I'm waiting on the VP cases!

| As a witness to the bind you were in yesterday, those gears are doing very well!! I would say you squeezed the wb down to 11" maybe less, and powered it out. And with just a rod end failure, nice job Richard
