I'm with Harvo...the center section looks like a wire spool for the antenna or Rx wires. I'm leaning towards the Rx wires sense with these 2.4 Tx/Rx systems you don't even have to have an exposed antenna.

You're both right. On one side I will wrap the RX antenna and on the other side I will wrap the ESC wires. I have read that this RX does not perform well with the antenna stuffed into the case. I will try it just to be sure though.

One side mounted up....

There will be a small part to act as a clamp for the wires.

I usually cut the on/off switch off of ESC's, but being a new dual setup I want to keep them on until I am confident in their programming. I drilled and tapped the switches to 3mm and mounted them to the chassis plate. They cannot 'accidentally' be turned OFF, because the switch is locked in the hole in the chassis. I always unplug the battery to turn off the rig. But if I need to reprogram an ESC, I can remove the switch to do so. And they are out of harms way.

Clever idea on the mounting of the on/off switch for the ESC's, I would have never even thought about doing something like that

I opted to unsoder the on/off switches from the esc and just put a bump of soder on the board. Pluging the battery in is my switch.

Does any one think that is a bad idea?

That is what I would normally do, but it makes ESC programming easier having the switches. I don't have to have three hands to do it.

Great work Sven, certainly some ingenuity going on I love the servo mount, but the interferes with my battery tray\motor guard. Will have to find another option for steering relocation...

Thank you!

Just relocate the battery .

---------------

Had it's first outing/comp with the new steering and chassis. I am fairly please with it, although I didn't get to run it as much as I had hoped. I used shrink wrap on only 1 of the motor wire connectors. During a rollover that shrink wrap backed off and I lost a Micro Pro and my battery . Ended my day in short fashion.

I have been running the Losi pins and VP SLW's with .7's in the rear and 1's up front, but tried out them on opposite ends and didn't really care for the widths that provided. It was 11" up front and 10.25" out back. 225 hubs up front and 335 hubs in the rear. I don't like the feel of the wide front, narrow rear. It just seems too unpredictable at times. I will be going back to the 1/225 front and .7/335 rear. I couldn't just swap tires around, because I run stiff foams in the rear.

This is the current setup. Please excuse the bird's nest, old habits die hard .

With the addition of some weights and some clamp-on body mounts, the truck now sits at 5lbs 0.4oz ready to run.

New body mounting...

During the time I got to see it run, it flowed over the rocks really well.

Your parts will be a hit when you start selling them !!

Wow.

This really takes the cake for conceptual originality.

Sven, w/ you front shocks so far back from the axle, does the front still bite down and make steep climbs like it used to?

I assume you'd have to dial in a bit more squat w/ your front geo.

And really, your designs are very unique.

Its like you look at everything from a very different point of view.

Someday i want to get a beer or 6 in you and hear your perspective on shit LOL.

And I too want your links
