Getting ready to build the shocks now.

I guess the cats outta the bag.

I can't wait to get a Viper too!

Gonna have to get my thread title changed soon too. Hopefully the mods won't mind too much.

From my experience I love them, no looking back. The Viper chassis requires a 4" shock. A long big bore (3.5") plus CO cap and a revo end = 4" shock with no additional modification

As far as durability....

I'm sure Tydl will love his, if not he can give them and the caps back to me.

Losi golds? How many coils have you cut off Rich? They may or may not work for him depending on how they are cut.

I may turn down two of my JeepinDoug cups tonight when Wade comes over. he can use two of my cut one then. Provided I can get motors turned, electronics tray fabricated, and everything working in the time he is there.

Mini T springs are on back order everywhere. I have 2 reds, need to track down another package..

When you did the bearing upgraeds, did you only change out the ones in the motor plate? Or did you upgrade the 8's in the tranny cover to the Avid 8's as well?
When you took your axle apart, were there any bearings damaged or did the teeth just shear?
Cool rig, glad to see Juan's getting back into it.

the only upgrade in bearings i made were to go with the ACER ceramic set, all stock size, i have no problems with the bearings at all. did not do the 9mm bearing mod. hope this helps you.

When I did the Bearing mod, I only did the Avid 9mm flanged, figuring that an 8mm, axial, or avid, should have a similar failure point. I didn't find any bearings blown out, just gear teeth sheared off, leads me to believe either pure gear failure, or housing shifted/flexed under stress allowing the gears to hop.

Either way, in the words of DickyT; "It was bound like a gimp!"

Let me tell you, this rig is pimp. Can't wait to get a production version myself.

They should all be ready in a few weeks. The last of the parts were ordered yesterday so I just need to wait for everything to show up. I'm pretty excited about the lower side panels....lighter than the DickyT's Delrin version, and they feel as stiff as aluminum. Plus they look cool
