Yeah, that was o*, not a*, my fault
What is the rate of those gold springs?
Are they supposed to be supersoft or just soft?
As for panels, u can use the coke plastic bottle or any other clear plastic bottle. It is strong and flexible enough to last the impacts. Just cut a piece needed, warm it up to make flat, paint and enjoy. That's what we do here, since we do not have lexan

That is a great idea in a pinch, I was able to come up with a little flat lexan scrap. Did a temporary paint job for now, will be replacing soon. Had to be legal for our comp this morning.

The shocks used to be losi golds which are a 1.4 spring rate, but they are a year old of hard use.

Off to comp.

Starting to get a feel for the rig, more so learing to drive a moa. Drove well until the final. Was 2pts outta 2nd going in, timed out at the 8th gate. Live and learn, points series is next saturday, so time to practice.

Got a few other things done last night;

Stelerzman made me a new steering arm, got it installed. Will work great till I get some alum knuckles Thanks

Had to clean up that rear servo mount that isn't being used but is necessary, so they say.

Gotta love those CO shock caps in the background

Nice driving yesterday Wade. I'm still not sure how you, Rich, and Bill all fell apart on the finals course letting me sneak by for the win...

Well, I know what I'm doing tomorrow night!

I have been practicing this week. I got 6 hours in over the last 2 days Went to practice again tonight and didn't get thru 4 gates before I got in a bind cuz I wasn't on top of my rig. From an angle, I thought I could power out, pulled the trigger; snap, crak, pop. It was the front this time, same 2 gears as when I busted the rear; final and final drive. Stelerzman and DickyT are loaning me replacements for the points comp saturday morning, but I gotta pick up from John tomorrow night. Wish I could replace em now.

Thoughts and more after these messages from our sponsors:

Yeah, but atleast I can put it back together tonight. Thanks guys.

It was pretty funny, I took it apart in the dark under a street lamp at the park to see my pain, and got it all back together. I am going to get those 2 in "cnc cut hardened steel" and see if they last for me.

You definetly need the "hard" stuff. Your running out of people to borrow gears from

So, you did the 9mm swaps, and are still breaking the stock gears.
Bummer, this changes plans for me. Looks like I will need the hardened gears too.
2 questions:
You running 35T or 45T Pro HW's? 3s or 4s?

OK,OK, 3 questions: Does Vanquish upsize the tranny cover bearings as well as the motor plate side, or just the motor plate side?

He has my old but freshly turned HH 35t on 3s

The vp cover has 10mm bearings.

All the bearings in the VP stuff are much larger than stock. W/ the motor plate and vp cases the only stock bearing will be in the bulkhead. The stock gears are still pressed poowdered metal and have weak points and inconsistancies in materials, I plan to run mine till they blow then upgrade to Axials HD shafts and gears unless something better is available by then.

Notice, I'm not blowing out bearings, again telling me its the plastic housing flexing or pure gear failure. I think there is a 2 part fix; hd gears of whatever brand, and alum housings. I don't think just one will completely solve the problem.

35t HH Pro's on 3s

I see there being some issue with the Rc4wd tranny plates cuz they don't replace the whole housing. I know I'm going to be going VP.

Thanks guys, VP housings and motor plates do seem the way to go, 10mm and designed to integrate with each other, no flex.
Which gearset are you looking at?
