Okay, I had a build thread then a rebuild thread. Now I want those threads to die. As I have been working on my rig and constantly redoing shit, I find this rig not to be an XR anymore. Rc4wd gears
VP front upper link mount
VP trans cases
VP motor plates

traxxas big bores w/ caps drilled and tapped
Losi mini t spings
35wt shockoil front
35wt shock oil rear
Custom 3stage foams
Dual Tekin FXR's
Deans connectors, bullet connectors and wires through out

Oh, I forgot to say that I am in the middle of wiring it up. Trying to get it all super clean. Getting the BEC out of the way completely, makes just a little more space for the other electronics. I am hoping to have it ready to run by sunday. If not no sweat, just as long as the wiring is nice and organized. I have a blue print made up, so I put the wires where I think they will look the cleanest and not be in the way. I usually get sick of the organizing and start slapping it all together. We'll see how it turns out.

Have you tried the FXR's? If so, what do you like better about these? I have been looking at them recently since they are considerably cheaper than the FXR's.

Was going to go fxr's, but the castle firmware is so much better imo. The fxr has number steps for throttle, drag brake and so on. Castle has percentages, that you can see what amount you have going to dragbrake, throttle and so on. Not to mention that the fxr go 1-13 on its adjustments. This is just me saying this, but I think castle is the cats ass.

Thanks, I think I am going to go with the micro's when I build my son an XR10 when he is ready to move up to pro.

What about the Holmes BRXL. They use the castle software and have the Holmes Hold and I think they are cheaper

The issue with the BRXL's is they areent a small esc. The micro pros are in no way going to be mounted on the chassis. I am mounting all electronics off of the chassis and on the front lower links, via a plastic plate.

Thanks fred, its just the one I've been working on. I thought it was time the rebuild thread died. I want a thread that has Q&A. On top of that I want it to have a name that it will hold for a while. Idk if the v3 juice is going to stay. I'll try to take pics of the rig as it sits right now.

Here are some teasers, as I do not want to show the electronics all put in place until I am totally happy with the final product.

The tray. Some wires waiting to be soldered, shortened and hidden.

Some VP knuckles and HR CHubs. Extra clocking in full effect.

Can anyone see something out of place. Like its hiding?
Thats all for now.

Your putting a lot of faith in those cable ties, especially in a location where they can be cut by the rocks.

Though I look forward to what you come up with, I enjoyed your other build.

Correct the CC Bec is under the servo. It fits like a glove. As far as the zip ties go, they will hold it in place till I can make a new motor mount tray.

The zip ties should be fine for now. Wrapping through the holes and not around the link they are pretty well protected.

Nice work on the bec placement

Thanks, I was trying to find a place to hide the damn thing. I had the servo off and the bec was sit right by that spot and it looked like it would fit. Next is to shrink wrap it in black shrink wrap and it will disapear. The cool thing is it dosent move in that location, it sits solid in there.

Looks good man!
I like the bec mounting idea.

I hear that the chaotic tierod works well with the extra clocking on the axle.
Like 53willys did.

Keep up the good work

Thanks man, I got a prototype tierod from a pal. They are bent to allow clearence. They are also raw, he plans on making a slick dyable plastic coating. It is as slick as delrin. I think I said too much.

Yeah, I thought you guys would like that. Its a dead space just asking to have a bec in it. The steering link dosent hit it at all. I'll try to get a pic up close of it.

Got a pic of the bec from below. It clears my one piece tierod by 1/2inch and the lower link mount by 1/4inch. It dosent even wiggle in there, it solid.

Have all electronics on the rig. Dont have soldering done as I think I want to shorten some wires up. The think feels light as hell. Got a pic of it, without wieght in the tires on its side. Notice the pack of cigs under the rear tire.

Going to retune my shocks and was thinking of limiting the shocks more. What do you guys think. Too much flex?
