Intriguing, what sort of time frame are we looking at on these. I might like to get some before Nats if possible.

I asked for them to be pretty much the same as stock (45mm).

Nick told me a couple weeks, but don't quote me on that. He might be able to get a set to you before/at Nats Cam. I would shoot him a pm and find out

the plan was to keep them the same length and the uppers will have about a 20* bend in them to clear the motor and trans case.

they don't look like they need much of a bend to get the proper clearance and we definately don't want to bend them too much and create a different problem.

if you guys have any input please let us know.
we have 2 sets sold as of now, and will start producing them this week if possible.

Unless the price changed, it was $45 for my links. Your CFO wouldn't mind you spending a little more would she? :P

Did you have a rig to check them on? I'll buy a set, but would rather wait until the design has settled out.

I agree with that...like to see the dust settle on this first....bought stuff for this crawler that's never left the packaging already...maybe I'm a bit over cautious now...

These Links are un tested. We were asked by Mitchelly to make him 45mm shoulder to shoulder links. 2 of them straight and 2 with a slight bend to clear the motor. I have worked with mitchelly before and trust him with his measurement. Seeing as how this is such a simple design, I am sure there will be no issues. We have made hundreds if not thousands of multiple-bend links, so we are confident these will go smoothly(as long as mitchelly measured right)

Im assuming there should be a few others on here that can confirm that size.

We have received quite a bit of interest and payments on these.

I spent a few hours yesterday tidying up my electronics, and deceasing my Micro Pros. This made an amazing truck even more incredible! Im now able to go almost beyond vertical! Lemme know what you think!

oooo...... oooooo...

nice n' low. Bet your likin' the next to nothing weight in the chassis.

i was thinking about carving out the rounded part of the skid to make room for the BigRon style motor mount... naked chassis are so pro.

Has anyone comped with these rigs besides me?
I'd like to know what you guys think of it in competition.
I'm having fun just crawling with it but in a comp situation it just doesn't seem to be precise enough or predictable enough to do well.
I've comped 3 times with it and have run one course that it felt somewhat comfortable.

I might be interested in trading you my Mantis for one of your chassis if you'd like a Mantis to test on. Either way I'm interested in your new chassis.

Funny you say that as I was thinking maybe I should just build another but I think my wife would get a little upset if I built another this year. I just built a new scaler today.
But I'm going to stick with it for just touch longer and checkout the new links and do a few tweaks. If I start feeling comfortable at the comps with it I'll keep it. I wish I could build 2 as really love just crawling with this rig.

This is probably a bad idea but screw it. Since I don't have a lot of experience at crawling, I didn't want to totally commit to an "unusual" chassis. My plan then is to arrange the electronics such that I can switch back and forth within minutes. Currently it will be between the stock XR chassis and the Mantis.

To do this, I'm converting all the electronics to short pigtails with bullets. Then connecting them as I see fit with "extension cords" to optimize the fit in each chassis. Different chassis will simply have their own set of extension cords. Pro: neat, clean, flexible. Con: more connectors than necessary. Someday when (if) I actually know what I'm doing I can finalize the beast and hard-wire everything.

My point, you don't have to have another XR...just an extra change of clothes.
