Haven't comped it yet. I have very little if any crawer guys around here.

NOOOOOO!!!!!! Don't do that! LOL You could use more than one XR10 :P
No crawlers around? Oregon has a few of the top drivers in the nation competing on a regular basis within a hour or so of you. Look up orcrc and join up with some of the comp guys up north. They can give you/it a good workout

Ok I will do that! I know RcBros isn't to far away from me. I really need someone to crawl with! But being 16 yrs old and not having my license yet makes that kinda difficult!

But I'm going to stick with it for just touch longer and checkout the new links and do a few tweaks. If I start feeling comfortable at the comps with it I'll keep it. I wish I could build 2 as really love just crawling with this rig.
HAHA There's always the old "It's a new body honey" :P

To do this, I'm converting all the electronics to short pigtails with bullets. Then connecting them as I see fit with "extension cords" to optimize the fit in each chassis. Different chassis will simply have their own set of extension cords. Pro: neat, clean, flexible. Con: more connectors than necessary. Someday when (if) I actually know what I'm doing I can finalize the beast and hard-wire everything.

My point, you don't have to have another XR...just an extra change of clothes.
For me that's still to much work.... but hey whatever floats your boat! And a cool idea man!

Just got the updated links from Don today! They look really sweet! Way to take care of your customers! I'm still going to use the Chaotic Links when I get them.... I just love Ti :P

Here are some pics of the articulation and clearance these provide!

It's interesting that you run an almost full stiff chassis and highlucks has all the braces out including the ones meant to stay. I'd like to see those two rigs on the same rock. Maybe I will in Las Vegas?

I'm about where NorCal is...the chassis change from the stock XR hasn't done anything for me except improved ground clearance at the expense of CG. But I don't know squat about tuning and hope to learn a lot at LV.

Hey man. If we don't have it down by socal comp season we will have to learn together.

Yeah IMO you only want about 45* of flex or the height of a tyre. Don and I will be out on the rocks together at some point so it will be good to see these rigs side by side.

I'd love to see videos of the XR-Mantises that will be running together in Vegas.

Ok..... I have a ton of articulation, but it's still stiff. It does way more three wheeling than I like, and it causes a lot of unwanted tipping. I'm trying to fix that by making it looser.

That is why they say torsion rigs take finesse driving, you will get used to it. I would have said add some weight, but your rig is already a tubby bitch. Perhaps you can look at placing you weight differently.

Edit: I am currently running 8 additional ounces on the front with knuckle weights and 2 on the rear with a lead strip on each lockout.

HAHA Mine is a little heavy...... I've got 2oz in the rear and 12oz up front..... I am used to it, but i just want to make it act more like the stock XR setup.... I guess torsion chassis arent meant to do that

everyone I've seen so far has added considerable weight in the front...Mitchell seems to be the most at 20oz...that seems to be a lot...is that total up front ??? Not per wheel is it and that's "added" weight isn't it
