| Mitchell's BWD Mantis Build
I've had a pretty much stock XR10 for a while now, and as soon as I saw the BWD Mantis chassis I knew I had to have it. Here's what I've got so far. - Dual Mamba Micro Proa - Team Brood 45T LE - Futaba 4PL - JRZ9100T - CC 10A BEC - Maxamps 1300mah 3s - Some Axial carbon here and there - Axial Lightened Gears throughout - PL Chisels - Axial Aluminum shock caps and spring retainers - Stock XR axles Can't think of really to much else, but I'll post as stuff gets here Stay tuned! Pics to keep you satisfied temporaroly. Last edited by MitchellY; 08-11-2011 at 12:26 PM. |

So are you "in" with Don or are you just anxious for the release? Way to be first with a Mantis build thread. |

It is the new mantis and he waits atop the list for the production batch.

| Hurry up and get that Futaba in there! Check out the 4PL thread and the new RX's we've been running. Smaller and cheaper.

Not to hijack, but what didn't you like on the 4PL? I keep thinking about a new radio but unless I am reading wrong the setup for dig and proportion is not as smooth as my DX3R and wantAmix setup. Otherwise I think I have to get a 4PKS to get similar button setup. | |

The 4pl is worlds apart from the spektrum and was unit!!! I don't have any issues with the 4pl at all! It works flawlessly and does everything I want it to do except 1 thing. My reasoning is kinda stupid actually! I can't stand not having the top of the line radio!!!(my wife hates this trait about me) I recently used a 4pks and it seemed to fit in my hands better. I have a short thumbs and the 4pks seemed like it was easier to reach all the buttons for me! My only issue with the 4pl was that it doesn't have a 2pos. Dig button. I am used to having a 2pos front dig button, I tend to get a little confused when competing sometimes and my scores will sometimes suffer because of it. But you can easily look down at the radio and see what position the radio is in. So it ultimately comes down to me wanting the top of the line stuff! |
