Default Aftermarket electronics/battery tray

I want to get a different electronics tray and was wondering if anyone sold them or if I just have to get some material and cut one to size that I need.

I'm planning on putting my 800mah 3S, 2xSidewinder, CCBEC, and Receiver on it but doesn't need to be much longer than stock. Think I can just get a straight section or does it also need the cutouts for the lower links?

Also, what are you guys using to hold these to the lower skid? I'm thinking about counter sinking the tray and then using larger screws to mount to the skid.

I fit the same stuff on the stock tray. I cut the sides off the rx box and velcro'd one sidewinder down there, the other where the stock ESC tabs mount. TP 850's slide right back to the front ESC and hold in with Velcro again, I slip a piece of plastic between the batt and tray to release the Velcro for easy changes. Rx and BEC are just tucked into free space around the front ESC/battery mount area.

Next option would be the Axial carbon fiber tray, it has the mounting figured out to clear the links.

I made my own got some plastic sheet from home depot. I just used the four screw holes on the bottom of the chassis to screw into it. I cut it 5 1/2 inches long and 1 1/4 wide and narrow it at the ends centered it on the chassis it fits everything on it with battery I am using a 850Mah

The problem I'm having is if I try to stick the battery on the front section where I have a little space, there's no way to fix it properly. I can velco it, but not sure if that will hold.

That's why I mentioned a plastic paddle to swap batteries, the TP 850's are a perfect tight fit between the battery mount and the lower plate with velcro on the top. You can't get a battery in or out without the paddle. If your batteries are similar thickness it should work the same, I've ran this way since the kits first came out and never had a battery move one bit.

It should hold, I don't think crawlers take too many hits. I fit a 1300 sky lipo 3s in mine with dual fxr's with ease.

Thanks again guys. Going to mess with some stuff this weekend. My first event with real rock crawler drivers is the 25th so I want my truck to be respectable

If you decide to go with an aftermarket chassis, look at T1E!!! You can then run your battery in board, motor mount or on the axle. If you choose motor/axle mount, look at Rowdy Racing's mounts.

I run my batteries in board because its easy with the RockshowSS

BWD sells a nice delrin electronics tray that bolt up to the stock XR10 skid. If you are creative with your wiring and packaging skills, I'm sure you could get all of that stuff on there

I like the BWD bow-tie looking skid. That's exactly what I'm thinking of. Thanks!
