Default a quick cheap fix for the crappy front links..

the traxxas slash 4x4 turnbuckle links are damn near an exact replacement for the plastic steering and toe links and are readily available on ebay for less than $10 per set of 6

By damm near that implies a slight mod, so what do they need to fit?

a small wrench to adjust the turnbuckle.... haha... i looked at the sct and its off by only a few mm. i have a few sets im bidding on right now. uahobbies starts the bidding at .99 a set and they usually go for $3-5. i have used these links on a bunch of builds and they come in handy once again

Awesome, coming from touring cars I was surprised to not have adjustable links

I don't think Axial makes an adjustable turnbuckle for anything. They may not even know what one is...

I used Durango TD310215 and traxxas ends. Works great!

Just to throw some part numbers at it for the non-traxxas folks, here's what I think I've found:

3643 - 82mm Center to center
3644 - 69mm Center to center
5539 - 90mm C2C (??? unconfirmed source)

3745 - 78mm C2C (Stampede / Rustler Turnbuckle)

Seems to me that the 3745 is the closest drop in replacement (unless I'm missing something, I don't have anything in hand yet & haven't had a Traxxas in 10 years)

Traxxas 3643 installed (you have to replace 2 of the included balls for the steering rack side and 2 for the hub for the upper link for standard Revo ones). Threading the Jato rod ends on further makes them stronger. If you only run them on like a Revo which is about 10mm you end up with a long hollow tube in the rod end that can break. Not the case when the rods are threaded in deep like on how the 3643 ended up on the Yeti.

Just curious, why did you have to replace the ball ends?

The Steering Rack and Hub are double sheer (plastic on both sides). These 3643's come with taller ones for use on the original traxxas car.

Here some pics, stock on top, TRA3745 middle, and TRA2445 bottom. The TRA3745 is a direct drop in, TRA2445 needs to be unthreaded to length.

$2.75 + shipping... I did switch one of the ends out for a shorter one on the camber link so I would have room for adjustment, the longer link would work if I screwed it all the way in though, just no more room if you want a degree or two of negative camber.

I have been using HPI turnbuckles. I'm thinking all the major players have some out there.
