Default Carwling with a Yeti

Can a Yeti be made to crawl as good as a Wraith?

The belly will always be lower, otherwise, it crawl pretty well when setup for it.

No. The big belly and less steering will not make the Yeti a good crawler and it was never meant to be. If you want to crawl get the Wraith, you'll be much happier!

I tried it last weekend, disconnected the sways, roc412 1200kv in 4s, 500k diff oil, rockbeasts --- the balance throws it off, for me unless you tweak it specifically for crawling, not just si ple changes, it's a no go for crawling.

I disagree. The Wraith wasn't meant to be a crawler either but it does pretty damn well at it. Like mentioned, the belly is the problem when it come to crawling. It takes a different approach at times and a different driving style but it can crawl pretty damn good when set up right. I've yet to meet a rock that my Wraith got over that the Yeti has not but the Yeti has gone over some rocks that my Wraith hasn't.

Just bought one myself for this very reason. More of a rock bouncer experiment, but I think it will work out great with some trial and error

I used an almost bone stock one on a G6 and it did great.

If going fast and using a lot of speed and momentum can be considered crawling, then yes.
It can overcome many obstacles that other cars cannot.
I have also seen a few tight technical sections that other cars lithely crawled though that the yeti had no hope of passing.
It really does quite well on the rocks if it's strengths are utilized, rather than being changed or modded into something else.

I am of the opinion that if the rig is used for it's intended purpose, there would be no gripes, complaints or questions and they would really enjoy what it is capable of.

I'm not being a dick but folks should quit trying to morph it into something it's not.

That being said, whoever spends their hard earned money on a Yeti can do whatever the hell they please with it.

The rc world is weird when it comes to the word "crawling" in 1.1 it's called wheeling or trail running. Unless u are doing a a comp or something. Rc crawling is for moa rigs. So yes it can wheel or trail run just as good as the rest when built right. Shot I bet box stock to box stock it might do better than.

Give me the same budget between the Yeti and a Wraith and I can guarantee the Wraith will crawl better, full throttle assaults at everything to get the big belly pan over is not what I would consider crawling.

I can take a crap in a box and mark guaranteed, but a guarantee is only as good as the man that wrote it. I come from real life stuff wheeling u4 type. I've been scaling with rc stuff for a long time but what is crawling in the rc world? This is a serious question so I can better understand.

So when we go wheeling/trail running and a few u4 rigs show up to do a day run with us. Is that not "crawling" bc they might need a different driving style in some areas?

Maybe it comes down to driver because I don't need full throttle assaults to get my Yeti to crawl. I drive it just like my Wraith for the most part.

We can have this pissing match all day long, the Yeti isn't a Wraith but it can be set up to crawl pretty damn good IMO.

I come from a comp crawler back ground and to me that is crawling, going slow over technical obstacles on rocks. G6 and Ultra4 is where the Yeti will be best at, and for the record I do own both the Wraith and Yeti along with multiple scalers and Ultra4 cars. I guess everyones idea of crawling is going to be different.
