Thanks so much for the pics! This conversion is U4 legal and can run in all U4 events just in case anyone was wondering. Also, on the stock yeti setup, the front axle is much wider than the rear measuring from pin to pin, so by doing the conversion and switching to the traxxas slash front end, it actually makes the front and rear axle closer to the same! Just one more benifit to the yetiX kit!

...............and yes, you do not need custom made wheels for this kit, plenty of cheaper versions available!

What did you use to cut the tires so clean?

YetiX looks badass as well, good job.
I used curved lexan sissors, and yes, I did the cut before I installed the wheels!

Ok, first I want to apologize for hijacking your thread with my many questions. Was just trying not to open a new thread with questions on the same topic.

I was misunderstanding what frdtrkguy was showing with the pics he posted. I think I have it down now haha.

His pics showed the comparison between the slash track width and yeti track width prior to the X conversion and showing the slash is slightly narrower then the yeti. SO, when doing the X conversion and using the 600's up front and 725's out back AFTER the X conversion the front is not that much wider then the rear to cause any alarm or end up crazy out of proportion with the rear when trying to stick with 2.2's all around.

SHEWIE *forehead swipe* by gollie I think I got it. haha

Ok, now I'm hook, line, and sinker for an X kit!

Again, apologies for the hijack........

Couple of updates!

1. The stock shocks are leaking, axial really needs to take lessons from traxxas. So, I have replaced them with the nice new traxxas big bore GTR set for the 4x4 slash. These are beautiful shocks with tons of adjustment and most of all LEAK FREE!!!!!!

2. The next thing I did was replace the rear pinion bearings with the mini loco bushings from lockeduprc!

The mini loco bushings didnt even last 1 pack, already had so much slop (and huge mess inside) within half 5200mah when i noticed it. Curious if you will have better luck. I had mine in plastic housings so that doesn't help.

Contact Locked up! I had the same problem, apparently there was a bad batch. They will make it right

As frdtrkguy said, we had a miscommunication with the supplier and had some bad ones go out. Shoot us a note on the site and we will get you squared away.

Check this out!!!

Crawler Inovations 2.2 1" wide glue on wheels fit perfect with a 725 slw hub! With tires mounted this puts your track width at about 13" !

Very nice and cost effective wheel for YetiX!

So.......... some updates from a few runs!

1st. The stock link for the servo is a joke! The rod ends are ok, but the tiny little rod just pulls right off. Simple fix, thicker piece of all thread!

2nd. Very disappointed in the Vanquish upper rear links! Same problem as the servo link, they made the threaded end too small and the rod ends pull right off! Got a set of beefy links with beefy rpm rod ends from CBERCFAB!

3rd. I should have known better, integy sucks and I knew it! Going to get a better made knuckle and C hub instead of this paper thin junk!

Couple other notes, gearing is at 18/64 with this 1/8 motor on 3s. It's got a stupid amount of tourque and I had to give the throttle some expo to settle it down from launch, but I want more top end. I've ordered a 68 spur and a 22 pinion to play around with the gearing a little. Also, still looks like it nose dives, so I've got more shock tuning to do.

I just love these custom builds. making things better and getting others to jump on board is a great thing.
Getting a build simple and clean isn't easy and getting stronger and lighter in weight is even harder and takes time to get there.
Great work!

Not sure, it's definitely heavier, but I will have to throw it on a scale. Mine will be just about as heavy as you can get, because I'm running mips up front and out back, the currie, and then the plates from the yetiX kit. I'm sure my GTR shocks added a little too. I built this to bash, not race. If I designed it to race, I would have stayed with the stock traxxas front and just done beef tubes for the rear axel.
