Default Broken rear axle

My rear axle decided to break on me today. I already have the Vanquish V2 OCP on its way. I didn't buy axle shafts for the V2 because I was going to use the stocks. Now my stock shaft is bent. What is the best axle shafts to use with the V2 housing? Might as well upgrade

Thx for the reply. I'd it best to pm him or does he have a site? Any upgrades you recommend? I have the HD gears ready for the V2 when it gets here. Should I have bought the diff cover? Have the VP lockouts and link mounts.

Fact. Beef tubes and steel axles are the best bet. I've ran and broken a titanium axle shaft. They are great for comp rigs but on a high speed/basher/etc steel rules.

I just put the Vanquish OCP on mine, haven't really taken it out and run it yet though.

I'm using the SSD wide-axle kit w/lockouts.

The plastic Axial truss fits just fine on the Vanquish axle.

The plastic Axial diff cover doesn't fit very well on the Vanquish axle, but I was able to force it in place. I think that the bearing caps for the vanquish need to be clearanced a little to allow the diff cover to sit right.

I have an AMF diff protector Amazon.com: Axial Yeti Aluminum Differential Protector (Wraps Around Pinion): Toys & Games and it locates on the ribs on the Axial diff cover.

When putting the axle together the vanquish bearing caps seem a bit wide, I had to force them and the diff into the housing and it feels like it drags a bit. I'm going to run it a bit and see if it loosens up, if not I'll pull it apart and see about trimming the caps up a little.

I don't think beef tubes will fit in this axle. I didn't measure but it looks like there is just enough clearance to slide the axle shafts in. I believe their description even mentions this.

The vanquish instructions say to use a 5x11x5 bearing at the input. That is an oddball size and I didn't have one. Just used a 5x11x4 and a .012 shim. I don't think a 5x11x5 would fit, maybe it was a misprint??? Kind of odd because they did include the 5x14x5 bearing that goes behind it.

I broke two rear axles in two days. The stock axle is soft like butter.I have VP rear lockouts,VP trailing arms,VP TI upper links,VP Spool and stock rear shafts but I can't afford VP housing.I am going to buy the stock again or the Xtra Speed Steel Alloy Axle Housing.Anyone use them?Any suggestions?

beeftubes and new housing if nessesary are cheep and the beeftubes will solve the axle breaking issue.
no expearience with the xtra speed housing, but with parts from them. they use weak alloy and fitment is sometimes not perfect. from this, on some places they are exaptable for me on same not.
the ssd is the best rear axle in my eyes, but you will lose the invested $ cause it eleminates the need of lockouts and the need of wider hubs in the rear, also has bigger inner bearing on the diff input and centered diff. many benefits beefup the rear in my eyes. they now come with the hd shafts. but never bend the stock ones till now

I will buy beef tubes and the stock axle for now.Does the tubes need any drilling to fit the shafts in? I had bought xtra speed tubes for my bomber but rear shafts were bigger than the tube holes and I had to open bigger holes.
