Good eye. I noticed that after placing a servo in position and it was 1/8 off of the axle. Oops! I am thinking about using it to lay the servo down like TotoRax did.

Will this kit fit a bigger servo like a 7980TH?

Its possible but it will take some effort. The holes for the servo posts line up with the smaller servos so it will just take some manipulation of the servo posts.

Shame about that, I have been looking at options for the 7980 servo and this truss looks the goods but after looking at the images I don't think it would be all that easy.

Hopefully there is more options planned for this orientation of servo Mount as I quite like the idea of having the servo lower, keeping it from contacting the chassis all the time.

Keep up the good work.

The Hitec 7980HV is not direct fit, but the HS-7950HV is bolt in fit, correct?

Now shipping are the new full length, lockout to lockout, chub to chub carbon fiber trusses. This should significantly help or end breakage on the plastic housings.

The front truss not only strengthens but it also acts as a servo mount and an adjustable upper link mount. A piece of 1/4" Delrin has been added to reenforce the area where these housings most commonly break.

These are available on my website in the XR/Wraith category.

The rear truss also strengthens the entire housing while adding upper link adjustments.

Are these still available? Does the front truss cause any issues with a CMS setup?

Yep, still on my website.

I am not sure on the CMS setup. The truss was made to run the servo on the axle/truss.

Just wanted to say your front and rear link mounts are working great for me. The separation of the rear link has helped with stability of my rig also as said is your build thread. THANKS

In post 30 you show the truss version with a servo mounted. Can you tell me the distance between the top of the axle tube and the top of the servo horn please.

Thats not my axle but mine measures .850 from the top of the tube to the top of the horn. Thats wheels axle and his is spaced .250 higher than mine so it should be real close to an inch or a hair more. If you need something more exact, maybe try PMing him or ask in his thread?

I hope that helps.

I am going to add in some small plastic 1/8" spacers on the Ultra front truss. We added a lot of pre load on the truss so that it would make it stronger. After beating on the tubes so much it did make everything stronger and eliminate breakage but it stresses the chub screw a bit too much.

BTW, a brass insert is bad ass for the chub screw.

I will revise the truss so it does not use the spacer on later trusses.
