Dont know if you heard, but most of Caddy is on a hiatus for awhile. They are gonna finish the run of CTS's for this year, and maybe for next year, but the DTS, STS are done for at least 5 years. The XLR is gone, and so are some of their SUV's. Not real sure on which ones. But I know some are.

I'm trying to think of a good model that Pontiac put out in the last 30 years and I am at a loss. *puts on TransAm Fanboy Flame suit* Last edited by Skeeno; 04-28-2009 at 08:20 AM. |

The new G8 GTP is killer. I got to drive one at an autoshow here in nashville. Awsome car. To little to late. GM is the one responsible for pontiac being the way it is. Pontiac used to be GMs performance division. Then they started forcing them to build shitty cars, with shitty motors, and add scoops and flares and body cladding to make em more attractive. You can put makeup on a hooker but you can cover up her A.I.D.S. God I hate GM OH, and want another kick in the balls. By the end of this week, if chrysler hasnt signed a deal with fiat, its done. Good ridance to them both. Thank good Ford aint tankin. |

Isn't the G8 a rebadged OPEL? And yes, when I think of Pontiac, I think of fugly body kits and cheap plastic interiors. |

I have been doing some reading around, and it seems to me that most Japanese automakers operate like this. 1 regual brand and 1 luxury brand. In some cases you'll also find 1 bargain brand. If you look at Toyota, (camry, corrola, prius, highlander, Rav4, Tundra, and Tacoma. I think thats all) Toyota is their regualr brand, Lexus (I'm not even sure of their linup) as their luxury brand, and scion (Xa Xb, TC) as their bargain brand. Nissan has infinity Ford has lincold works well for them Lets look at GM. Theres, GMC, Chevy, Caddy, Saturn, Buick, Saab, Hummer and Pontiac. They have more nameplates than I can remeber. And they all compete with themselves. Nissan doesnt compete with Infinity, Toyota doesnt compete with Lexus, Ford doesnt compete with lincoln. and now that there killing off pontiac, hummer saturn GMC (probably) and saab. What does that leave them with. Chevy, Caddy, and Buick. Ummm, isnt Buick supposed to be a higher end car than chevy... So what does that make Caddy. A super car, ultra luxury division. Sorry, if I had the cash for a ultra lux car, the last thing I'd buy would be a caddy. GM's stupidity runs deep |

GM will also go to a name change from General Motors to Government Motors.

They need to take the decent vehicles getting killed off and put bowties on them and add them to their line up.

| Its a Holden from Australia, so was the GTO re-release before the G8. Name 1 GMC model that isn't just a slight design change and re-work over another Chevy vehicle...I dare you to find one! The problem is they have for the last 2 decades just re-badged on the same platform. Why compete with yourself when you are losing business to completely different companys (enter Foreign auto makers and the other 2 in the US). |

if GM had filed bankruptcy back last fall when they were begging for $$$$$$$$$'s they would have already got rid of the UAW, restructured and be making money again. leave it up to the gov't to mess things up. |

I thought I was going to get flame by fanboys telling me how great the Transvan, GrandAm, and GrandPrix were, but I see that most of us agree that they were all terrible cars.

| dont forgt jaguar too ;) and i personally like that gmc and chevy trucks are similar, I love their truck platform but I loved the gmc front end compared to the chevy so i bought the gm where as my buddy loved the chevy front end. I think the stupid unions are more to blame than their lineup.
