This is a cool photo, to me, because it's not only a picture of a bad ass military helicopter, but also because this angle gives it a face with a big, gaping mouth and two top teeth. It almost looks like a mechanical Jar Jar Binks or something robotic.

Bled brakes
New pads (racebrake sintered metal)
Corner weighted
changed rake (lowered front for more turn)
Tractive Suspension shocks and shock controller.

Unfortunately we had a very slow start to the event. The new shock controller kept faulting and putting the shock to full hard and the brakes seized and wrecked the front left pads and rotor.

At the end of day 2 we fixed all the problems and started setting some times. The Tractive Shocks are amazing, the car is completely different. At the height of our problems we were in 120th (out of 180) and when we fixed the car we got upto 14th.

But I got a bit greedy and ended up off the road near the end of the event. The damage insn't that bad, I just need to replace the passenger aperture panel.

Looking forward to getting some proper testing to get more out of the shocks and then the next event in Nov.

Man barn-finds a 1963 split-window Corvette Sting Ray, lets his imagination get the better of him, and the car. With turbos.

That's sad! He ruined the perfect design. This car is one of the all-time best looking cars as-is and he chopped it and riced it. Belongs in the WTH thread instead.

From what I interpreted in the second slide, it was a non-numbers matching hulk that was too far gone to be able to recoup the costs of a restoration to original condition.

My uncle had a ‘63 Stingray he almost let rot away. He traded it as a clunker for about 50 acres of land with a house and 2 catfish ponds. He bought it used but it was all cosmetically original. I remember my aunt’s leg quivering at red lights trying to keep the clutch in. LOL. It’d bark the tires at nearly any speed with a little throttle.

This is a Cool Pictures thread not a Cool Stories thread so, no, I didn't read anything.

But if there's that much fab work in it he could have used aftermarket parts and custom fab work to make it look like a '63 Vette.

I'll say there's nothing "Rice" about it, however.

American rodders have been modding hoods, doors (suicide doors, for example), and relocating motors ('65 Dodge A100 pickup dragster w/mid-motor) for years.

It certainly is extreme, but it's more as if George Barris decided to build a high-performance custom.

As much as I love the '63 split (I'm not a big lover of Corvettes in general, but it floats my boat!) I also like this one a great deal!

MetalNerd makes a 1 and 2 inch lift kit for MK4 VWs(not just the beetle)

Bilstein HDs, or TC sports shock/struts

Moog racing European jetta wagon VR6 towing springs

And 205-75-15 General Grabber AT2's

The end.

This is the setup I'm running on my 4 door golf TDI.

Out of curiosity, would these fit yours?
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bsw-57rn3

I’m really wanting a mk4 1.9l for the awesome mileage and would like a different look than my clapped out mk4 GLI that rubs and drags everywhere I go. It’s a hoot to drive with 24psi but I have to dodge every hump and pothole on the road.

I found another in auto for my oldest girl. I told her the old man sold it already but I really haven’t picked it up.

Mine and my Yoder.

The ‘new’ one at the old man’s shop. It’s still got the RCs. It has a 2.5 T-back 42DD, too. Sounds way better than mine. Lucky girl....

I'm pretty sure my wheels(steelies) are 15x7 and -40mm offset(-15mm more than the link you posted)

I dunno offsets and all that, so, if that 15mm is closer to the rotor.. Then I would THINK, with a 15mm spacer, those wheels would be identicle to the stock steelies(except much nicer looking)
With the 205-75-15s and no lift, it does rub.

Looks good.
Ill grab pics of mine.

If you want a TDI, get on TDIclub and read up on them. They are more reliable than anything I can imagine, with proper care. I am about to drop acouple grand into mine with the idea that this will be the last major maintenance for the next 200+K miles easy. Mine smokes like crazy and doesnt have the best tune, but I still get 40mpg+ regularly. And thats with the bigger tires and lift.

I’ve read a fair amount on the TDI but I’m not as versed on them as with the 1.8t as I’ve stripped it to the bare block and rebuilt it. Tune, pump, and injectors for a start.

The -25 offset will poke an extra 15mm vs. your -40 steely.

Weird cloud proceeding a lot of wind and heavy down bursts a few days ago. I could hear it coming the winds were so hard and loud. The cloud was as far as I could see in both directions.
