Cool, nice to see you aren't scared to handle! I'm a tarantula guy so it doesn't creep me out at all.

I love tarantulas. I spent a month out in west Texas doing nothing but searching for arachnids and reptiles. I try to stress to people that it's all in the way that you approach and interact with animals that sets the stage. Being careless or aggressive generally doesn't end well in any regard... whether it's a cat, a dog, a snake, a spider, etc. My wife still hasn't warmed up to spiders and she probably never will but I used to feed honey-bees and was able to get her over her fear of them to the point that she now loves 'em. Like I told her though... no need to freak out when you see spiders and unless it's a widow or a recluse, do NOT harm them. She now recognizes that they are beneficial to controlling the other insects around our home that are much more invasive, hazardous, or destructive... silverfish, roaches, certain types of beetles, etc.

We would all be knee deep in bugs if not for spiders

Dry Falls was really flowing today after the rain. Also, you don't really stay dry, especially when it's flowing like this.
