Thats wrong
Only you know these things, but from what I have read,I get the impression its the later. If its the prior then I mistook your comments
I said I was stopping people and looking for more. If I found it great, and in the area I work I do find more a lot of the time. We all look for more most of the time because it doesn't jump out and say hello to you. People hide it because its illegal, we have to look to find it. Sometimes we are trying to find more and sometimes it's an accident. A good officer always looks to make sure all seems right to make sure nothing else is going on. If we weren't we wouldn't be doing our jobs 100%. The meth lab i found was an accident, i was going to give him a ticket and go home cause it was time to get off work. I didnt end up getting off for another 5 hours. I go and look for traffic violations in the known drug areas .. Stop cars not looking solely for people with drugs but I don't pick that area just for traffic tickets ether.

Interesting and many very good points.

There is always a few bad apples and it's just a shame that the actions of a few cause people to assume that we are all like that.

I've been in law enforcement for 15 years and I've been slapped, punched, kicked, spit on and called every name you can imagine and I still refuse to let them take me out of my character. Of course there are times when you have to get down and dirty, but there is a time and a place for it.

I've escorted many people to the hospitals and would never deny anyone access to emergency care. However, I will not allow them to be reckless and create an additional dangerous or hazardous situation on the road.

Also, I am a detective now but when I was on patrol, there are times when we have that "hunch" that something isn't right and we really want to stop someone. I find a legal reason to stop them even if its a cracked windshield or an item hanging from the rear view mirror. If I'm wrong, then I let them go. If I find something and make a good arrest, then I'm glad I made a difference.

I love it when people say that they pay my salary by paying taxes. I always say thank you and let them know that I pay the same taxes they do.

The bad guys never want us around but when they need us, we never get there quick enough..

I stop some people and just advise them they have an issue and many don't relize it and they go on their way. .
and thats what I was trying to say, there are many cops that will pull you over just cuz, like i said, the cop in my town pulled my moms bf over cuz the corner of the license plate was bent, and it wasn't on either corners where the tags are. you sir are actually pulling over people with actual reasons like cracked windsheild and stuff so you are fine, I have no issue with that but if you decided to pull someone over because they're license plate was dirty then your a bad cop IMO
