You assume they make me unsafe based on the actions of other drivers. Its deffinatly against the law to speed,it deffinatly is dangerouse,as the diffence in speed between vehicles leads to more damage. If you ever speed,I dont care if its 5 over, then you are much more likely to not react quick enough than me going 5 under and on the phone IMO For you to assume that I will cause you injury cuz I'm distracted is an OPINION based on no evidence of my driving history. I was on the phone for over and hr yesterday driving. And why didnt you answer the questions about the cb's and direct connect phones??? I guess its ok for the some, but not all right
He'll argue that talking isnt causing harm. This is why insurance companies thrive. If people just used a little sense instead of seeing how far they can push the envelope, things might be a little different....
Look the guy who bases every thing from undeniable fact. The undeniable fact is I have never had a collision while being distracted. Thats a fact, every collision a have been in I was paying very close attention to the road.I simply didnt leave enough room,I try to give alot of room, thats why I drive 55-65 in the fast lane, there is never anyone in front of me. |

I have been in several accidents, speed was always the factor, add alchohal to a couple also (other driver) I have never been hit,or hit anyone where I feel them (talking) caused it,them not reactionm fast enough caused it. Yes talking to anyone or on a phone can limit your reaction time. so can many other things,so leats bann them all fact is if I hit you its my fault. If it wassnt intentional, then what crime is there????Its an accident no intenet to harm was present. Like I said, the phone is not a mind altering substace,or device My taking is not a crime, this is not a communist country this is america so I will do things you dont like You will do things I dont like too each thier own If I ever hit you,for whatever reason,I have insurance,so whats the problem??? Dont try to run my life, and I wont say you city folks are dangerouse to everyone cuz your damn gps on your dash, your watching and listening to that instead of the freaking road

There is a verl little known law that says "slower traffic keep right and another law that goes with it, its against the law to inpead traffic no matter what the speed is. Example you are doin 65 in fast lane all another cars behind you are doing 70 or more there fore you are inpeadeding traffic and breaking a law even though going over the speed limit is breaking the law if all the 70mph cars are going that fast then the 65 car is the one causeing the problem. This is my biggest beef I have in traffic. Last edited by jammin311; 12-08-2010 at 11:15 AM.

Who would have guessed this thread would turn into a fuking train wreck. I don't really care what you do but you shouldn't do any of it and drive. |

I have been pulled over for IMPEADING traffic before. Fact is its safer for me in the left lane. As drivers get on and off the ramps they create a dangerouse situation for me. I have to controle 25000 lbs. I cant stop on a dime. So I drive in the fast lane,at a safe speed for me. I will not allow the state of tx to force me to put myself in a dangerous situation. Also I'm constantly passing people,I simply take alot longer to do it. There no law that says I have to do it in 1000' or 10 miles, just that you have to be passing. So no trooper has ever givin me a ticket for it.

| Not true. You can be given a driving in the left lane ticket if any LFO feels that you were not actively overtaking. No distance is set but all he has to do is observe it in his opinion. Looks like you have just got lucky to this point. |

Only the judge decidesd what the law really says. The officer mearly inforces what he thinks is the law. Just cuz the officer doesnt think I'm activley passing doesnt mean I'm not,I drive about 1-2 miles ahead of me,not 50-100' I have had officers (ususally city) give me plenty of double parking tickets. Fact is its not against the law in TX and I have beat every one Last edited by rock hard; 12-08-2010 at 12:15 PM.

| Ever gone somewhere intending to have a couple drinks and find yourself drunk a few hours later? That's what I meant by "drunk on accident". Compare this to knowing for sure that you will be drunk at some future time...or premeditated drunkenness.

This is just how I was raised. My father is an alcoholic sober 30 years now, he made sure I understood at an early age that driving while intoxicated or otherwise distracted is dangerous and unacceptable.

Well, when my sugar gets low I guess I get a little irritable No no worries J I accept we (people) will always have disagrements Its our willingness to listen and talk to each other, even though we disagree that make us open minded

I love it when people disagree with me. As long as everyone remains like, calm and collected. I pose to actually learn something then. |

We could all let this thread die and go outside to do something productive. Think I'll go wash the gravel in my driveway.
