Love the gear guys... As an Aussie, we've gotta jump through some hoops, but happy enough to be able to have a couple in the safe. Here's my latest one. S&W 686ssr |

Here is a Savage .17 HMR I just got..... I added the 3x9x50 scope and the Bi-Pod. I also got a couple more 10 rd clips for it. It is a sweet shooter. I also picked up a new Panther DPMS, but it looks just like any other AR. |

Going for a week long hike in the mountains of WY and taking the Tops Tahoma with me. Tops Website Description: The Tahoma Field Knife is designed to provide anything the outdoor professional would need in a knife. "My load out for my camera is sometimes 45 lbs, and that's not including any food or equipment for my-self to keep me alive. Designing a knife that would keep my weight down to a minimum and comfortable for all day use was really the goal." said Andy. His background in tinkering, and fundamental knowledge of physics and human movement was the foundation and basis of development for the Tahoma Field Knife. The tip has a double edge, used as a backup blade in the event the main edge should become dull during an extended period of time without a means to sharpen. The notch on the spine of the blade is used for scoring materials to create a weak point to break, as well as break wire by work hardening it, and pulling pots and similar items out of a fire. The thumb ramp has a hole in it for a forward wrist lanyard popular in cutting contests as well as to aid in lashing the knife to the end of a stick to make a spear. The finger choil makes bringing the hand closer to the blade possible for fine carving tasks. The choil also creates a secondary "tip" for carving or notching. The overall shape of the handle is made for ergonomics and to give the user a better grasp like on a machete. Dual spindle sockets for a bow drill make it safe to use left or right hand operation. On the pommel of the knife is a pry bar, shaped and positioned so that if given a backseat grip on the knife during chopping, it would not cut, or wear into your hand. Every feature is integrated into the knife to work with each other, as well as be instinctual to the user so that it feels like an extension of the body. Whether you're in the field collecting specimens, or in the field defending freedom, the Tahoma Field Knife is a reliable companion in an uncertain world. |

I've heard bears are scarce up there because food is scarce... except for pick-a-nick baskets that is. | |

9-10K, be on the lookout but, you'll need to worry more about cats up there. They've got plenty of food this year so they shouldn't bother you. Not sure what's up with the bears, unless it's related to a late freeze that we had this year. I love that area, btw. Some pretty nice trails. Last edited by KJ10; 07-08-2015 at 09:26 PM. |

New addition to the stable. Wanted something nice to use and to pass down. Browning BAR Short Trac in .308 with Nikon Prostaff 7 3-12X42. This is the best feeling and fastest sighting rifle I have ever owned. Shown with a birthday present from my wife, a pair of Bushnell Legend HD binoculars. A couple others I have been playing with. Winchester SXP Defender with a Talon Stock. Wyndham Based AR Beretta 92FS with some Wilson Combat upgrades, Benchmade Griptilian and Wilson Combat watch And last but not least my EDC. Kimber Ultra Carry II with cocobolo Crimson Trace grips, Wilson Combat knife with Cocobolo starburst scales and my 20 year old Seiko Perpetual. Last edited by neillarson; 07-29-2015 at 07:51 PM. |

New toy, less than a month old Kel-Tec KSG 12ga. I've been waiting for one of these for quite a while, ordered from my local GS. But it took months and still nothing so I ordered out of state and actually saved a few bucks. A literal blast to shoot. I get the occasional hot shell rim grazing my wrist and 100+ rounds of 2-3/4" slugs gets you a sore shoulder but this thing a the funnest hole puncher. Out fitted with Hytec long mag selector, extra long top picatinny with Troy sights, alum lower picatinny to support the Fortis vertical grip and the Hytec breacher muzzle device. |

Nice knifes, but all illigal here. Either they are too long, can be opned with 1 hand, or blade can lock in open position. I have no idea how we take care of our self here, other than paying the highest tax in the world and leaving it to "Big brother" Problem is "Big brother" here is a drooling demented idiot with blinders on |

| Re: Gun and knife picture thread! I do like them, I lose the bungee cap POSs that come with scopes too often, or get them hung in brush. I think I have Butler Creeks on all but my BAR Light Stalker as it has Iron Sights that limit the clearance on the front of the scope. Easy to find for my Nikons which is all I use anymore.

did some shooting today with the new ar. the one on the bottom is mine, anderson arms lower, anderson arms upper, bcm gunfighter charging handle (can't stand stock charging handles), magpul moe grip, and a truglo red dot. the rest is pretty much standard equipment. i was going to put irons on it to begin with, but the truglo was at a decent price point. really don't know if i'll change out hand guard or stock, i like the way it shoots and handles now, but nice to have the option. the one above it is nearly a twin to mine, friend bought it at the same time, but got a deal on a daniel defense quad rail (not a fan) and some rear sight i can't remember off hand. the trusty mosin and xd-9 are mine as well. |
