@ mrG- very nice tool set! I work for the 'yellow and black' team, you'd be amazed at how much reverse engineering our team does on those tools

Milwaukee offers a 20V battery to 18V tool adapter, so you'll be able to use the new batteries once the 18V batteries go out of production. ( not that far away in the immediate future...)

After some lengthy discussion and much research, I boiled things down to the new Milwaukee's M18 Brushless Lithium Ion FUEL tool line.

Not sure I'll even ever use all the features these dang things have...
They are BLUETOOTH capable for controlling all features of the tools for custom settings, they also have GPS built-in so if ever lost you can locate them just like GPS locator on a lost cell phone.... Plus many other features I probably will never figure out how to use

Anyhow, grabbed a drill, impact driver, 7&1/4" skil-saw, sawzall, charger and 3 REDLITHIUM XC 5.0 extended capacity batteries

Now just to figure out how to use the Bluetooth features

3m speedglas 9100x to replace the masterforce (save phace looks about the same) helmet.

Bought the masterforce last year when I didn't have a ton of money on hand. Really for a hobby helmet, its OK, and I will forever like that I can wear a dust mask under it. The filter started being sketchy on switching, some of the time it would flash me, others it would lock dark. Welding 8 hours a day, stuff like that gets annoying fast. Other than that, the headgear digs in after about an hour, it fogs up, and a few other annoying deals.

The 9100x was on the doorstep when I got home, so I went to work on it. The headgear has more adjustment, and is melon head compatible. The filter is pretty big, easy to adjust, and fast. Another huge plus is the air channels they mold into it. Right in front of your mouth is a vent that takes exhaled air outside the helmet. Still not convinced on the side windows, i'll give them a better go tomorrow at work, but they're only shade 5, so for the time being I covered them. Only real downside is the price, have cars that are worth less. Buy once, cry once.

Finally found a clean WJ to replace the one that got totaled last November. This one, like most things in my world, needs a bit of attention..

'04 Limited with Quadra-Drive, 121K miles. Georgia truck, garaged until it came to Maryland 2 years ago. Not a spot of rust anywhere. The underside literally looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line.

Now the bad part- PO had the truck diagnosed as a dropped valve seat, but didn't know how the garage came to that conclusion. He just accepted their findings as fact. I'm not discounting what has been told to me, but the symptoms point to a blown head gasket. New radiator 2 years ago, the old one just started leaking, no overheating. Green coolant in the system, not the HOAT that's required. When I pulled the dipstick, it was just starting to show signs of water contamination. When I started it, it ran/idled great for about a minute, then would start to load up and belch white smoke from the tailpipe.

The plan is to pull the valve cover and look for a broken rocker arm- tell tale sign of the dropped valve seat. If it's not there I'll tear the heads off and hope that I catch a break, but I'll be ready to see the worst news.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just a bit excited to have a clean WJ again.

I purchased the lumber and put this together today inside of my storage unit. Cinder block wall was perfect for concrete anchors for mounting this up nice and solid, just don't tell the property manager!

Not bad for $40 of lumber and a few hours of my life. Now I have a place to work on the 1/6th Jerp again.

I saw this monster at a discount store 2 months ago and couldn't stop thinking about it... so I decided to go back and see if it was still there.

I love iron skillet cooking!
