My family thinks it is weird, especially since I am 15. The think I should do better things, like go play with my PS3, but they don't understand. Same thing at school. Friends ask me why I spend $500 on a High Lift (what is that they ask..) when I could have gotten accesoires for the PS3, etc. I just say: "You're just jealous..." I feel right at home a the Hobby Store though..

Oh well, guess I'll make a tee-shirt on my cafe press account. It will read... "Short Bus Racing" then people will just think I'm special and not a dork.
ROFLMAO....... I hope you don't mind me using "Short Bus Racing" as my team name.

Yes, I feel like a dork. But in the little town where I live, people look at me REALLY funny when I run them, and the neighbor lady makes her kids come in the house whenever I bring them outside, (I think they think I'm a child molester trying to lure their kids into my house with cool toys or something... which is pretty funny because I have two kids of my own)

But then I am kinda a freaky-lookin' dude.

I'm 43 and I'll say this much - you younger guys will reach an age when you no longer care what other people think.

Most people think "toy" unless they take the time to take a closer look. Once I show them that 60% of the thing is hand-fabricated from raw materials, and the remainder is parts gathered from 4 or 5 other different rc vehicles and modified to suit the purpose, they get the point - this ain't no kids game.

I have experienced that myself a few times...

Alright, now Im 14 gonna be 15 in June, and honestly, I dont give a damn what people say. It's all about having fun, esp. when your in a group with a bunch of great guy's (microgoat, sloppy, etc) who don't even care. I used to be into the racing scene a year ago, and then I cared. Everything's changed since then. It's all down to what you believe in. If your gonna build a badass truck, then show it. Don't hide around with it in your basement on your indoor track that you built in your spare time, take it out and kick ass.
