Hmm.. My take on this is the width of a Wraith has it's pro's and con's. The only thing that I think gives it an advantage are it's wheelbase and buggy style chassis. Even that has pro's and con's. You could easily build a Wraith killer by using a buggy style chassis with SCX10 axles and pushing the wheelbase out. If you're going to single out the Wraiths, I think you need to look at putting them in with the class 3 rigs making a 3rd class for your comps. Since I'm not going to be making enough of the events to make any difference in the standings, it really makes no difference to me. Just watch out for creeping towards making your fun comp more rules orientated. In the end it's majority rules and this comp is about whatever you guys want to make it.. |

I agree totally keep it super fun.... Good points ron... and i feel these series can become a stepping stone on many levels, ie: that weekend basher who wants to learn tech, tricks, advice and be challenged on the courses we build to learn our rigs and hone driving skills without maybe being intimidated by bigger scale point based events at first, in which are great in themselves!!. the guys who want to ease into thier builds and do this HOBBY within thier financial means, easing into builds, again learning the ropes, enjoying the growth in the hobby and again having less intimidation that there may be. or the guys who want to have a springboard series easing those ones of us who may want to someday elevate to the scale point based events in colorado and nationwide, goin full force into scale points series and elevated builds and set perameters in those scale events in which are great and wisely Thought out.. Its great to be an intricale part of this type of fun gtgs seeing people grow and learn, and learn thier rigs, whatever level you do this scale part of RC is a blast, do it in fun, and within your financial means, come to have fun laugh, smile and sometimes FREEZE.. im in 1.9 class so im nither here nor there, but if i were to mount up some 2.2 id still hate the thought of goin against a Wraith. Wraith are a "Rock Racer" not a scaler on big ol tires. Making the classes go by chassis, and leaders final say, makes it seem simpler and fare. But as JK said this is a "fun" series, and if we loose that by trying to make if fare then i dont know. And we add a third class to time, judge, and wait to run. But again sounds fare, what does a 1.9er know tho, lol

well said, and i agree, im a newbie to comps, and most likely wouldnt just jump into a full out pro style comp, this is a great stepping stone to learn the ropes a bit. And im a guy who like the rigs, the driving, the courses, and being compeditive is a great thing to throw in the mix. Id like to see atleast the 1.9 scaler class move more toward the TTC side of comps and events. "Fun" right??? idk jus a newbie

@colocanyonpunk, yeah i feel ya, thats why we have thrown in some water, some axle twisting loose rock, some sand and dirt hillclimbs, the thought is to ease guys into that terrain, then as they can they in time they can waterproof stuff, trust me now that im waterproof i wanna blow thru water lol. thats why brandon and his guys and myself and my guys encourage everyone to ask each other for advice and help, water/mud proofing is not expensive, BUT MUD SUCKS WHEN UR CLEANING YOUR RIG LOL.. you have a great resource RIGHT HERE ON RCC in waterproofing threads. still after THREE YEARS in the hobby im learning waterproofing and electronics drying tricks by the guys who been around forever.. great things guys.. , so yeah as everyone feels confortable by wll means we all can talk about tossing more across the board TTC stuff into the mix.. Making good progress on the scx10 water proofed my servo got all my electronics in a project box and moved to the front made room for more flex by moving battier back so the servo does not hit. still working on body but starting to come along.
