There are people from all over Northern California that crawl and want to attend comps.
I drive a minimum of 1hr. 15min. for the closest comp and 3-1/2 hrs when we hold comps at Folsom. As it stands right now there are 5 people competing this weekend that live on the Monterey Peninsula and several others that are only 1 hour away. We are having difficulty finding areas to host events since there are so many people showing up to the events this year. Many of the spots used in the past will not work for groups of 30 or 40 people.

As everyone has stated, we are limited right now on spots that has enough space, is legal, and has a great variety of terrain to make comps worthy of driving 4+ hours for. Who wants to drive all that way for a small pile of rocks? Seriously, we are always looking for new spots that is not too far off the beaten path and will be a place that people will look back and say, "Damn, that was an awesome event spot". So far, the Bean & Folsom are the two best with Pacific Grove looking sweeeeeeeeeeet. Unfortunately, we want variety at our events by having different types of terrain to conquer.

The problem is that the few that help put on the event can't be the only ones looking for spots "and" ensuring things are a go. We can thank TylerV & Badger for Folsom, Dean for the Bean, Usslandlocked and the boys for the Sierra spots (reserved for later this summer when the snow melts) and Lance found Pacific Grove. He did the hours of homework in his free time to ensure a legal and amazing crawling event. Although it is a bit of a drive for many, there is always room for new locations to the North. I have asked several times in the past and even just recently. If you have something and can do a good portion of the homework, please post up. I am always looking for a new venue.

See you guys Sunday, crawling or not. (Edited to the proper day. Supposed to be Sunday not Saturday, thanks Lance)

Hey, post up pics of someone who has comp worthy spots near you instead of bitching about people bitching.

What???? Saturday?????

Does that mean you want people to help you move or are you trying to confuse people?

(Remember how easily I get confused).

Here is some info that might be helpful for those showing up on Sunday.

There is a Juice & Java about 1-1/2 mi. from the comp spot that opens at 8am on Sunday morning. The address is 599 Lighthouse Ave. Pacific Grove.

Nob Hill grocery store that opens at 6am located at 900 Lighthouse Ave. Monterey.

Across the street from Nob Hill and up the hill 100 yards is a 7-11. It is at the corner of David and Hawthorne.

If you use Mapquest - notice that the Nob Hill address is in Monterey. There is a Lighthouse Ave. in PG and in Monterey.

There will be plenty of parking and the vehicles will be very close to the courses.

The first pic is what you will see of the comp spot as you approach about 100 yards before the parking area.

The second pic is the entrance to the comp spot parking.

I will be there early. (white Tacoma 4dr with a shell)

See ya there.

I will be generating the running order at 6PM, so if you aren't on either the original sign up or the new sign up, please put your name down now. I will make sure to include all names from both lists just in case people didn't know to sign up again.

For those that aren't on the sign up lists and sign up at the event, there will be a 10 point penalty. This is just to motivate people to signing up before the event because it makes things run a lot smoother this way.

So sign up!

Orders will be posted a little bit later.

-Sam

P.S. if I can't get my rig running by tomorrow, Dean has offered up to let me run his rig. So that would be two people running his sick ass machine, so watch out . Just felt I needed to warn you that it's game time

It looks like I'm not coming after all, been in bed sick since Thursday night and haven't got any better.

If the event was a little closer to home I would go so I could make the judges my Badger booger burgers. Sorry guys.

Have fun.

P.S.

Dave, If I were going, your fat ass still wouldn't get a burger since I would be giving it to our starving student Nluv. Can someone bring porky a salad?

I'm bummed. There is nothing worse then sitting at home sick while all you rc fags get to have fun. I might drive down just for the donut.

I'll definitely be down to Monterey next time though, I love that place.
